I don't see why he would have reason to lie either. IMO your posts speak more to your character than his.

Yeah - but searching 16,000 Halves in one week? Or another searching 5,000 Halves + 15,000 Cents on one week?

    21,000 coins in ONE WEEK???

Everyone wants attention (including me), but from whom are you trying to get it? From internet nobodys? GO FOR IT / HAVE AT IT.

    ed.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME TO POST. MATH FOR 15,000 COINS FOR A RETIRED PERSON, FOR A WEEK, IS ... INCOMPREHENSIVE. IF YOU'RE A WORKING PERSON, ... SCRAM

I work a full time job and have 2 kids. I have plenty of time to search the boxes. I can make it through a box of cents in about an hour. I do one after I get the kids to bed each night. Sometimes 2 depending if I get on a roll or not. I do my 6 boxes of halves on Monday afternoons after I pick them up. I make it through those in about an hour and a half. Doing the math, that comes up to around 8 hours a week searching. Really not that bad. Picking up my order takes 20 minutes at most and dumping takes maybe 30 minutes. We will round that up to an hour. Add that to the 8hrs searching and you get 9 hours.
I'll be generous and add an extra hour for misc stuff. 10 hours a week on a hobby. Not that much time.

What are you looking for when you search the Cents, @furryfrog02 ?

I pull out all wheats (obvi), foreign stuff, and any noticeable errors. I sort out certain dates that I check for varieties and stack them up to search after I've sorted the box. After I have all the stuff sorted, I search for varieties and then write whatever I found in my notebook. Looks like this:

I do not believe anyone is lying in this thread. Seasoned collectors can search faster than newbies, it just comes with experience. I search boxes of coins one by one coin, but others just look at the edges for silver. Which is fine, everyone does there own thing. It makes sense that the edge searchers would be able to go through a box of halves in a faster time than I.

If you do not believe was is posted in this thread, feel free to stop posting in it or ignore the people who are "lying". Its pointless to call them out with no evidence. Furthermore, its pointless to lie in this thread at all.

Hello so the next 2 boxes out of 4 yielded me 8 pieces of silver, 1-64, 1-65, 2-66, 2-68, and 2-69's. While I was dumping the teller informed me he had $1,200 dollars in Dollar Rolls from Loomis. 16 pieces of silver for the week me much more happy! In the picture in included a Dollar coin that looks someone is trying to fool someone into thinking its a transitional Coin! I believe its chrome plated! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and you all score lots of silver for your efforts CRH.

A statement I can agree with! I said it before, some of us search differently than others and that's ok. What is not ok is defacing any coin so you can tell if you've searched it or not. It takes me a while longer than @furryfrog02 because I ENJOY going through everything. I mean EVERYTHING!

Ohh and I'll reply to my own post here and say that you know what? I guarantee that I miss things so here again, it should be for the pure enjoyment of the hobby.

Yes I have luck all the time finding silver, I also do 16 boxes a week sometimes 20, I took $2000 back in Nov 2103 and started searching half dollars, I was hoarding copper cents before that until I saw a Youtube video on someone that made $60,000 in silver searching halves and I made the choice that week to get started. With that $2000 I have pulled over 5500 pieces of silver to date, searched over 2.2 million half dollars on that $2000. I believe if anyone does this hobby $2000 is a good amount to start if one can afford it. Purchasing multiple boxes at a time greatly improve ones chances of scoring silver. I hit some really nice monster boxes in the beginning and one last year. Not so much this year, much slower on finds, though I did have a 48 box skunk streak last year, my first and hope last one of that kind of streak.

Like I said Sam, EVERYone says, "The grass is always Greener across the street."

That is, if it's real grass... ;)

Would still like to see vid of someone doing search of 21,000 coins in one week.
