Got a call from Laura, the teller at a "no-account" bank I frequent for the odd halves I can scrounge. She once sold me a silver dime out of her drawer. Anyway, she said somebody turned in several cent rolls and they opened one up - solid wheaties. She saved them from going into the coin machine for me! Said she will look at the others and if wheaties, I can have them too. I'll be there when they open at 9 am!

box of halves was a skunk. That's ten skunks in a row. Have three boxes coming in on Friday.

I hope so. Feels like I am playing black Jack and keep busting my hand. Thing is I am not losing money!

So it’s better than gambling in so many ways. Looking for the “silver” lining in there somewhere.

Laura the teller ended up selling me 22 cent CWRs. She said some were "solid rolls of wheats", the other rolls have "some wheats in them". So, obviously she went through them all. I'm hoping she didn't pull any! First roll I opened was solid wheats! Here's a couple of tease pictures. I may not get through all of them today but I will post some results tonight.

Tell Laura she Rocks! That's the only response acceptable in this type of situation. Can't wait for the Results post. Nice looking one on the bottom in the middle there. I like how there is a tease for any dates on those babys!

Based on the skunks lately and changing things around from time to time or banks, I have a question that might help. From talking to tellers, it sounds like they work off of their own "Stash" or locker of coin/currency through these services they use. It is exclusive to those banks, each their own. That being said, the only "new" sources are when people bring in droves of coin or currency to introduce it back. Does anyone know this to be accurate as well or does it actually go out to different branches? If that's the case, it really helps to diversify locations!

I think we are living off what people dump into the general pool in your region. It all goes to a central location and gets disbursed back to the region in MWR. I don't pay attention to getting at one bank or the other because it doesn't matter, it is a regional thing for all banks not a branch thing or even all Branches for one bank like Chase.

I have a pick up and a dump bank. One serviced by Loomis and the other by Guarda. I've marked plenty of halves and have yet to see one come back around to me. I'm pretty sure the bags go back to the Fed to then be disbursed out to various companies where it is rolled and delivered to customers (banks).

Can't wait to see what you get! I'm jelly. I've only managed to get 2 CWRs of wheats before when I first started CRHing in 2012.

Berto, as an avid deuce spender, I see a red seal about twice a year. The Red Fivers are a rare score for a bank. Way to go!

Quick update on the wheat cent rolls I got today. Opened 8 rolls: 3 were solid wheats, 4 had from 20-30 wheats, the last roll was all modern Memorials (go figure). Listing just the pre-1940 wheats:
    1919
    1923 (barely discernible)
    1927-D
    1935-D
    1936 x 2
    1938
    1938-D
    1939 x 3
Picture of the pre-1940s below. Will have to wait until after I get back from a trip before finishing the other 14 rolls. Enjoy!

Well I am happy to state that the ending to this week is much better then the start to this week, Still had 3 skunk boxes out of 4. I still pulled 8-40%ers,1-66, 4-67, 2-68, and 1-69, Also pulled 3-Clad Proofs 85, 93, and 97. I only fell one short of my weekly goal so that is a good week. Good luck everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I live 20 miles from Sidney, Ohio. My gut says Coin World (In Sidney, Ohio) had these done in 72 for some kind of promotion.
