Today I picked up 5 boxes instead of my normal 4 which is always nice, plus the manager said she had another 2 boxes for someone else and they don't pick them up their mine! Out of the 5 boxes 3 skunks pulled 5-40%ers, 1-66, 2-67, 1-68 and 1-69 plus 3-Clad proffs, 1-80S, 1-93S and 1-05S. Friday I picked up a bunch of CWR of Pennies, nickels and dimes, and I pulled 1-1960 dime, no date Buffalo nickel and a 1946 nickel, also a couple pounds of copper cents. Hope tomorrow is a better batch of boxes, need 5 pieces to reach me weekly goal. Opened one box and it had a ender with my marking face up. Hate seeing those? Took four months to get that one back there were others too. Gives me an idea what the cycle of some of the coins are. Wishing you all the best!

Finished my latest box of pennies. Have somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 -60 copper to look at.
Have roughly half a roll of copper that will go 6.
And roughly the same that will go 5.

Maybe I'll get a full roll of one or the other from the copper.

Stopped by my bank with a self-serve coin machine. Branch Manager knows me and said the machine was on the fritz. But she did pull several bags off the machine after an elderly lady came in to dump some coins (bells going off in my head!). She said the cent bag accidentally was programmed to take $100 instead of the usual $50, but it might be worth taking because the lady dumped her coins in that one first. Manager said the lady also dumped some dimes and quarters (no halves - :depressed:). So I bought the $100 cent bag, a $1000 dime bag, and a $1000 quarter bag for Wheats and Silvers. The cent bag didn't disappoint - 65 Wheats (including a '24 & '29). Also (2) 1955 (no DDO, :yack:). I was able to upgrade 5 or 6 coins in my Dansco and saving the rest for the grandkids albums. Tomorrow, I start on the dime bag. Tempted to just hunt for silvers, but will probably look for 2009 and 1982 no mint mark just to be safe. 10,000 coins - that 's going to take awhile like the cents did.

Ran through a box of cents this morning. no Wheats until the 50th roll, and found this very worn 1914. But it was a hole filler, so I kept it!

Well, I didn't run through a whole box of cents this morning but I did finish up the box I've been working on for about 2 weeks. (I work slowly )

Nothing breaktaking as far as wheaties. 13 total with the oldest being a 29D. Also had 4 Canadians with one of them being a '53.

The highlight of the box was finding a 1998 "Wide AM" variety. Of course, of the 5 of this variety listed in the Redbook, this is one of the more common. But it's still my first so I set it aside.

Congrats on the 1998 WAM @midtncoin
I looked at every coin in my $100 bag from a few days ago and figured I would never find a WAM or NAM so I didn’t even try on the box this morning. Maybe I should keep trying. Way to go!

I've only been looking for W/NAM's in the past few boxes. So I'm sure I've missed a bunch. Now, I set aside every 92/92d/98/99/00 cent and look at it more closely.

Even though its listed at $25 for MS65 in the Redbook, they are being listed on ebay in circulated for $5 or less (mine probably grades low-end AU). So not a big find -- but still interesting. Hopefully I can eventually find the other 4 and put together a set.

Nickel box #9 yielded the following goodies this week:

Pre-60's: a pair of 39's, 6 from the 40's, and 11 from the 50's. The best of that bunch was a 41s which was the first of that date/mint I've found.

    War-nickels: a 45P and a 44S. The 44S was the first for that one.

Buffalos: a VG 35 and a Fine 36. No suprise there.

Foreign: a REALLY beat up 2002 5-Eurocent from Greece. It's in such bad shape, it's not even going in my foreign box. I'll probably leave it behind in the reject bin of the coin machine and let someone else find it.

2 boxes of Loomis dimes = Nothing. $7.50 in teller tray halves = 1 1966. I'll take it.

If you mean "are there different varieties of the 98 WAM?", then no. What I typed was kinda vague. I meant that of the 5 Wide or Near AM date/mm combinations, I have one of the 5. I have the 98WAM. Now I need the 92NAM, 92dNAM, 99WAM, and 00WAM.

I Got another box of pennies from the second bank in town today. Among the first 10 rolls was one with all copper and one with half or more copper. Aside from a stack of 25 or so 6 level pennies there are three stacks of take outs that have yet to be checked out that are close to 50 in each stack.

The 98 and 00 are evidently about the same based simply on the price listed in the
Redbook. It is the 99 that appears to be the more difficult of the trio.

After 13 rolls from the current penny box this is what I have in copper.
The Loomis roll is to show just how many copper this is! 20180222_090348.jpg

david, those are impressively tall vertical stacks! My hands aren't steady enough these days to make such tall stacks of any coin. Perhaps you should become a brain surgeon.

I'm not a cent searcher, but it seems you are finding a good ratio of copper:zinc in your current cent box.
