Another box of Loomis-rolled cents has come and gone. Nothing spectacular but it wasn't a total skunk either. Only had a pair of QEII Canadians this time which was actually unusual in that I normally see a lot more of those. A total of 15 wheaties with the oldest being a 37D but the rest from the 40's and 50's. As of this box, my cent "keeper" rate is 0.39% which comes out to about 1 in every 6 rolls (if my math is correct). Also, given the 139 available date/mint combinations of wheats, I've now found 34 of them via roll-searching.

15 wheaties in a box is not bad at all. I am happy if I average 10 per box. My last 4 boxes averaged out at 17 a piece and I was extatic.

Here are the 3 silvers I found in the $220 of MWRs including the Bender. It was a 1963-D.

Been doing lots of penny boxes and averaging 5 a box but will get a good 12 to 17 every couple boxes. Got a 1919 S filler today finally!

I have written down my finds (wheats, canadians, errors, varieties, etc...) since I started searching in 2012. Not really sure why...But I wonder what my actual average of wheats/canadians per box actually is. I've just come to feel that 10 wheats per box is a good middle ground. It's not often that I find more than that. I'm at well over 500 boxes at this point.

Dad and I average 13-16 wheats per box. It’s really location and supply. I will have like 3 boxes with 7 each, then get a couple in the 20s. Dad seems to get more consistent boxes. But his average is about the same as mine.

I usually get more Canadians than wheats. Often twice as many.

I just went through $300 worth today, didn't find a thing except "collectibles" (forget what they're called 2002+ era) and a butt load of bicentennials.. not sure why so many people think they're so special

I also keep records. I roll search cents, nickels, and halves. And I've created a spreadsheet to keep track of my finds.

Finished a box of MWR nickels just a few minutes ago. For nickels, my "keeper" cut-off is pre-1960. Found a total of 26 keepers with the oldest being a pair of 1940's. For some reason, the 1940's are the most common date that I find.

The best find from this box was a pair of 1944P silver's and one of them grades a nice, pleasing VF. It's going into a 2x2 instead of the normal junk silver box. Most silver nicks that I find are down in the G to VG range since they are so soft and wear so easy. To find one in VF and is actually nickel color and not dark gray is quite a find for me.

So to date, my nickel success rate is 1.16%. I have now found 47 of the 61 available pre-1960 date/mints available. But still searching for the elusive 1975D "close D" variety!

I call them NIFC's (Not Intended for Circulation) and I keep them. I recall one of the board members mentioning they had found several rolls of them at once so if I did that, I'd probably dump them back into circulation.

I found close to 5k NIFC halves a few weeks back. 09D/10D/11D. I keep one for my album and dump the rest. Some people sell them for a small profit but I don’t care to sit on them long enough to do it.

Must've been "out of my mind" when I wrote that one haha, I knew they were NIFC's. I average 1 a roll, I've begun to wonder if theyre even worth keeping, or if they have any resell value whatsoever, or if I should dump them back into circulation except for the dates I need.

Well, I guess they do have some premium value if you're willing to deal with them. Since they are only available through breaking up mint sets or buying rolls/bags, if someone were trying to put together a date set from circulation, they'd be hard-pressed to find these dates easily. Additionally, since they are not released for circulation, if you do find one, they should be really close to mint state. So for myself, I keep a few of each date for resale. I generally price them at $2 or $3 each. But if I came across 5K, like furryfrog02, I'd probably dump them as I simply couldn't tie up $2500 in something that I couldn't move quickly. :)

I have two sets going of the S mints all the way from 1970 to current for my daughters and it almost complete from the ones I've found. Pretty cool once it is put together!

After dealing with eBay and PayPal the past few years, a few bucks per coin wouldn't be very ideal I feel like.. I might save them up and sell them in sets, but we'll see. Might save some for sets for my brother.

After dealing with selling on EBay my fair share now, the trick is to have buyer pay shipping and to have it be just enough over for the 10% taken out. Then even a marginal profit is possible. Weigh and measure though!

From you're experience do your items tend to sell faster or slower when you have buyer pay shipping? I mean I don't mind paying shipping, but I've always felt free shipping is an instant seller. But at the same time I'm always weary of low prices for the amount of times I've been ripped off, something to ponder I suppose.

It did es but then have to raise the price to compensate. Gotta have tracking number. Post office issues otherwise

Sell time seems about same either way! My previous response was too rushed and didn't make a lot of sense.
