$70 in CWR halves from a bank in a grocery store tonight yielded $40 in Cu-Ni clad bicentennials and $30 of nicely organized but worthless miscellaneous Cu-Ni clad coins from common years.

I went to both banks again. CWR dimes and nickels and Loomis pennies. The dimes were a complete bust.
The nickels were all between 1940 and 1970.
Very few were better than what I had but I did snare two fills.
Somebody may be disappointed. I'm keeping all the copper pennies. 5 rolls down and 5 to do tomorrow.
Going to bank again because the grocery store in our little town is hiring and I sure want to work there!
Also got a couple of dead president coins.
A clean James Buchanan and a William Henry Harrison.

I picked up my $500 order of halves. There are 8 enders, but they aren't the good kind. They're coins I marked 3 years ago.

Oh well, maybe there's something worth keeping mixed in there somewhere. I'll search them sometime this weekend.

Here's hoping! Went to both banks.
    CWR Quarters and Nickels.
    Loomis pennies.
Quarters gave up a slightly better 81D and a much better Delaware. Nickels up next.

Reading this thread has prompted me to get back into roll/box searching. I ordered a box of halves from my bank yesterday but it won't be in until Monday so I went ahead and picked up a box of cents. Have gone through a dozen rolls so far and have only found two highly corroded 50's wheaties and a pair 90's canadians. I'm setting aside all the 69s, 72d, 83, 84, and 95's for closer looks later.

Hope your boxes go well. Halves and Cents are the way to go. I haven't done a cent box in awhile, usually good for rainy days.

I wanted to get a box of nickels as well but they were out. Hopefully next time.

I've actually got quite a rhythm going. I open a roll, turn all the cents reverse-side up, immediately take out any wheaties and the new shield cents. (wheaties go in a separate pile, shields go in return jar). Then I visually check the dates on the others looking for dates that have known dd's. Prospective candidates go in another pile for a close look later. I read on an earlier thread of someone on the board finding a 95DD in pocket change so anything is possible.

Thanks, it was my second box this week and I've got about 4.5 ounces of silver. That's huge for me especially after some horrendous months recently. I want more! I don't have any boxes on order so I have to call around.

The nickels were all between 1940 and 1970 with one 77D.
An astonishing number of 1958D (of course I need a P) and found a fair one and ONE ONLY.
There was one 43D but it wasn't as good as mine.
And I had a 46D with a stain on the face.
Found one with a good obverse but not so good reverse.
    Traded it out anyhow.
Will probably do the pennies before 10:30 or 11am and trade out at the drive through at our bank.

Mr. davidharmier60firefox, when will you know about your job? What store is it? Unless you rather not answer...no big deal.

Does anyone else feel like most tellers just despise you after you come in and ask for half dollars, or is it just me. To me it seems like I walk in and they say "How can I help you?" all bright and cheery and I ask if they happen to have any halves its like, "Let me check....*GROAN* "Anybody have any half dollars?" *GROAN* *GROAN*

I feel the same way, lol. But it has to be done! The worst is dumping. I know the tellers at my dump banks roll their eyes when I come in. They have to dump them for me because the machines are behind the counters. Halves make a ton of noise too.
