Dumped $440 in halves tonight. The bank didn't have any halves, so they were genuinely pleased to have some to hand out when customers asked for them...win-win!

Picked up $60 in MWR halves tonight from the bank I ordered $500 from earlier this week. They reported they only received $60, so I bought them. 2 NIFC was all I found.

hey everyone, new member and first post!

Went through 2000 in Halfs this week. 1-90% 11-40%. one box had over 100 NIFC is amazing condition. 2 Proofs and one 86' commemorative. On top of that, there were over 100 MS+ coins. I couldn't believe it. It looked like a serious collection dump or something.

Has anyone else ran across this before? Tons of MS Halfs/Coins? I keep the NIFCs, but not sure what to do with the others. I'll post some pics soon.

Also not sure if MS+ is the correct description, I can't really say UC coming out of circulation but they're the nicest looking coins I've ever found in a roll.

All I know is I was going through rolls and there it was.
To tell you the truth I don't honestly expect to find anything under 1960 in nickels. A little older in pennies.
And pretty much nothing under 65 in dimes.

    With very widespread exceptions.

I bought a box of half dollars a couple days ago, but haven't be able to go to the bank to pick up the paper rollers for them so I'm at a stand still. I find it most efficient if you unwrap and wrap a roll so that you don't have to recount your searched ones. I went to 5 banks in Brooklyn as I was visiting family and none had any half dollar rollers? Not even chase (my go to for half rollers). I wonder if all banks will stop supplying them... then I'll be in trouble.

Ace, I reroll my MWR halves with the original wrapper. Open 1 end with a screwdriver, push out the coins, search, slide the coins back inside the wrapper, fold down the top of the wrapper, and repeat.

Ill have to try that when I get the chance.
Care to share what the finished product looks like?

Keep the coins you like. In my case I'd keep the really nice coins and eventually fill the complete JFK series booklets to sell.

Cool, wasn't sure how messy it would look. Interesting looking rolls. I'm used to the bright yellow text that I can't even read.

I use an old fingernail tool, that has a smooth shape - less likely to damage a coin. My dad uses an old plastic toothbrush that he carved down to a shovel like point.

Ace, you're referring to NF String and Son wraps.

My area doesn't offer those, but instead only the wraps in the pic I posted...local company.

Memories from today. Two MWR rolls marked Loomis dimes.
Both all 2017D. Kept and put into flips a couple nickels.
Updated a 62P penny to a very nice looking one.
Have 1 nickel roll and 4 penny rolls for tomorrow.
    Good night y'all.

I seem to find NIFC all the time, I stopped even finding them unusual and just dump them back into the system. I have got one box from Loomis that every, I mean every roll was 1995, they all looked like condition from a mint roll. Was the most boring box of halfs I ever searched.
