Hi, I'm brand new to Coin Talk. I have been Coin Roll hunting on and off the past few years. Recently I just started a job as a cashier, and in my first week I have pulled many wheats, a Buffalo Nickel and a 1961 D Silver Quarter (today) from my till. In terms of roll searching, not very recent, but I found an 1863 Civil War token in VF condition when buying a single roll of pennies at a local gas station, a feat of luck that has yet to be repeated by me thus far haha. Will post some photos when I get a chance!

    $62 CWR Jeffersons- 40, 40S, 3x41, 46, 51D(a year late), 2x56D, 3x58D (one AU/BU), 60D and 62D. IMG_1022.JPG
I also found a bunch (15 prob) of AU/BU 82-83 that I had no idea were worth more than a few cents. In the low-mintage jar they went.

Found out it isn't the fan motor in the AC.
Shouldn't take long at all to fix what it is.
Should be pretty easy to get my pennies replaced.

Teller I'm friendly with held a few things for me:

    $4 Ikes - 2 x 1971, 2 x 1972

    $10.50 halves - 6 x 40%

He said an elderly man brought in all sorts of weird coins and was about to dump them into the coin counter. One of them was an 1851 California gold $20 coin! Didn't see it myself so no idea if it was real or not, but even seeing a fake would be an interesting day at a bank. Also had some older halves, quarters and dimes that one of the tellers convinced him to take to the "we buy gold" place at least, rather than dump into the machine.

I did make it to both banks. So far a 64P update and a 12D.

Well, I guess getting half their value is better than getting 1/10 or 1/30 of their value (for silver and gold FV respectively). :( Sure hope they don't melt any good stuff, though.

Wish I could develop the right kind of relationship with a We Buy Gold place. The one near me apparently went out of business a few months ago -- the owner was having health problems, but I can't imagine business was as strong as when they opened in 2011-2012.

I ordered a box of halves. As soon as the teller took it out of the vault, I knew something was wrong. The box was ripped. Anyway I brought it to the car. When I got home I realized something. Between the time I ordered on Tuesday and picked up yesterday, some hunter dumped his halves. That means there were 2 boxes in the vault, the sealed box and the poorly-repackaged searched box. I happened to get the searched box. Next time I have a chance I'll check to see if the other box is there. Searched the whole box in 15 minutes just in case the hunter missed something. But there wasn't anything.

Today my Sister brought me two packages of flips.
    Penny/dime size and quarter/nickel size.
    Rollwise it was update/consolidate day.
Reflipped a few that were in quarter size flips.
Update several 201x and 200x coins.
Saving 8 rolls to get me through Sunday.
Made up a whole nother roll of the updates and pennies I saved for one reason or another. Thinking of going Nickels on Monday. We'll see.

Finished initial sorting of a box of pennies today. Whatever company rolled these has terrible quality control - 4 different rolls had 1 dime each in them lol.
First sorting has, in addition to the 4 dimes, given me 13 wheat (including 1x 1929 and 1x 1937 - in my eyes, anything earlier than 1940 is a win lol) and 5x canadian pennies.
Next is going through year by year looking for errors and varieties :) Wish me luck!

A few more updates today. Two rolls for the morning to give me something to do before 9am.
Thinking 3 rolls nickels and 5 pennies in the morning.
And it doesn't hurt my feelings one little bit to find dimes in a penny roll. Has happened twice so far.

True - but 4 different rolls in 1 box? That seems more like they have a broken machine than a "simple" error, right? Lol.

A while ago, I had 4 boxes of machine-wrapped pennies in a row where each box had one dime in it.

I've only found dimes in Loomis wrapped rolls of cents. Some rolls were also short.

Their quality control isnt the best.
