In about an hour and a half I'll get 3 more Quarter rolls.
    In the meantime I found a D bicentennial Kennedy I didn't know I had!

I did get 6 boxes of halves and $90 in loose halves and $90 in CWR. All I got was 3 40%ers and 1 90%er. Kind of lame. Did get a beautiful 1987P. Is that worth anything?

If it's in Proof shape, maybe 5 to 6 for it. Since only 2 million were done, it's definitely key. I keep them as they are rare. Congrats on the silver! There's $15 you didn't have before.

Yes, the 1987-P & D halves were made in mint sets with a mintage of 2.9 million each. Very hard to find in circulation. I have found (1) 1987-P in ~38,000 halves searched. Still have not found a 1987-D. Tried to buy one at the local coin shop a few weeks ago to finish my Dansco album and they did not have it. Guess I will buy it online.

Got three MWR quarter rolls at the second bank in town.
    My usual teller wasn't there.
    Got approximately 7 fills.
Need more than a few 70s and a couple 60s to be complete 65 - 98P with a few select 2000s kept as well.
Figure I might snag a silver here or there but ain't counting on it!

David: you keep mentioning doing FILLS, but have you also started to replace those that you have for BEST OF THE BEST coins?

Well yeah. Although in many cases the update is so slight that I don't bother. For example I saw 3 of 4 65 not much if any better than what I had. And one of the 60s I mentioned is a better 66. I decided my 09D and P are good enough even if no better ever appear.

Stopped at a bank on my drive home from work. A teller at another bank I stopped at over the weekend had told me he knew this branch had something like $180 in halves. Anyhoo, one of the tellers tonight had $4 loose (I spotted a silver edge when she pulled them out of her drawer), and gathered up another $150 in CWRs. The CWRs were rewraps, but I bought them all anyway.

    Glad I did!

    33, 40's and 1, 90!!!

I do that and it took me a while to find the trick with having them not fall back out of the Whitman. I know they're not choice books, but they do what I need them to. I take the edge of the coin and dent the hole of the book in a little bit and that seems to keep my book from dumping when I open it.

Wow! You really hit the jackpot there! At least we know that people are getting them for other than silver hunting... there's hope yet. HH!

I don't have all AU etc. But there are no noticeable strikes on them or dark areas. And mine are all going in flips in boxes.
Tomorrow it's a toss up between which bank I'll visit.

All in all... I proved to myself what I had predicted at the start -- there is no profit in US nickels. I might be able to sell them for a total profit of $10 over face. Might.

I won't be posting much anymore now as it's summer and I don't want to waste my time inside. I had fun. I recommend collecting for the fun of it.

Nice going berto! Getting the inside track on some CWRs from your teller network is awesome.

My regular bank gave me three CWR quarters.
Got two fills and 3 better examples of others.
At least one 71 and one 69 would mean I have at least one of every date between 65 and 98. Put three more State Park quarters in flips. They have to have an interesting to me reverse to get flipped....

Tonight I picked up $100 in CWR halves at 1 bank, and all the rolls had great big "X"s written on them in permanent marker. Yep, I thought "skunk", but I'm a glutton for punishment, so I looked through them. Somehow the "dumper" missed a 40% business strike bicentennial in BU condition, yahoo!!!

I also stopped at a new bank, which was a surprisingly large one, and bought $120 in MWR halves. The MWRs from this coin courier have yielded only 2 silvers in tens of thousands of coins I've searched. Well, there was a beautifully toned '68 in one of the rolls, so I'm stoked!

    HH all

My sister brought me two MWR and I CWR quarters this morning. Got two fills and two updates.
I just went and traded those in for 3 MWR.
One update from the first of those.

Those are both NICE finds! I don't know how much they're worth but, if you post it in the section "What's it worth" then you are more than likely to get a value there.
    Thanks,
