And an 1826 British penny would be about the size of a half dollar.

The surprise of the month! Ran out quick to return halves and asked if anything new. A gentleman apparently brought in pennies he had been saving for long time, $70 worth. Many are labeled and tons of wheat rolls! I could only say holy !@#% Batman. Pennies from heaven!

    2 boxes today...no silver.
BUT...I decided to complete a date and mint mark set of halves to keep my interest going during boxes like these, plus it is a heck of a lot more interesting for my kids (9 and 11) who help me sort. I'm hoping at least one of them gets the coin bug somewhere along the way, so I've tried lots of things to make it fun. My daughter likes cents, but my son is the one who is really into silver. He is now even asking about spot prices.
We made a ton of progress on the date set, filling lots of holes and swapping out several that were already in the album for upgrades. So overall it was a win.
I only did 2 boxes in February and had eleven 40% halves which was good.
    Will keep at it.

Box of Halves.....Skunk, ugh. Have four more boxes today. Hoping my luck will turn. I hit 19 banks for teller trays and CWR and did two boxes and only got two silvers this week. Been doing the leg work but not much going on.

    $25 BWR Cents: 28, 44, 45, 46, 54-D, 56, and 576 coppers

    $66 CWR Nickels: 39 (x2), 40-S, 41, 46, 46-D (x2), 57, 57-D, 58-D, a dateless buffalo, and 30 Eurocents

$200 CWR Dimes: 62 Roosie, and 10 UK Pence

$80 CWR Ikes: Skunk. Finding big dollars is a rarity in the local banks. Not sure if I'll hang on to them for "long term storage" or release them back into the wild.

I've been holding my spares, but I think I'm going to spend some of the gritty ones. They have no collector value, so I'm going to circulate them one at a time and make people's day. :)

$25 Ikes - all common dates (no silver, NIFC or varieties), but many of them were in great condition. Anyone know of a good resource to determine a high-grade example vs one that's just better-than-average?

TheIkeGroup online is a great resource and good Eisenhower dollars and you can come up with some other great sites. That's how I've been learning about them. The fact that they're in great condition says a lot. Been finding more recently as well! Congrats!
