A fun day of nickel CRH today... very first roll had a 43-P... the very next roll had a very nice looking 1939 staring at me in the face... I flipped it over, and... 39sobvCRH.jpg

Had to go to chase yesterday because TD Bank has stopped carrying half dollar wrappers for some reason.
They had one roll of halves which yielded 4 40%ers! That's more than I've gotten in some boxes!

Back in the States for a week. Got home at 1230am this morning. Spent the day hanging out with my son and daughter. When he goes to school on Tuesday I plan on hitting up the local CU and picking up a few rolls to go through. I need to scratch that itch :)

So far this year I've pulled 10 dimes from MWR. Nickels are my "go to" coin, but I usually do $50 of MWR dimes a week. Definitely not the easiest or most cost effective way to acquire .715 ounces of silver. ;-)

$25 BWR Cents: 19 wheats (all common 1940s-50s), 5 Canadian, and 519 coppers

    $50 CWR Dimes: '59 Roosie

    $100 CWR Nickels: 136 pre-1960 coins, of which 115 came from only three rolls. One of those rolls was solid 1939 from Philly. Most were average circulated but the '49 has a nice luster to it. Here's the completed take: 1938, 1939 (43), 1940 (20), 1940-D (3), 1941 (4), 1941-D, 1942 (4), 1945-S, 1946 (12), 1947 (5), 1948 (2), 1948-D (4), 1949, 1949-D, 1950 (3), 1951, 1951-D (4), 1953 (2), 1953-D (3), 1954-D, 1955 (4), 1956-D (x2), 1957, 1958, 1958-D (x3), 1959 (2), 1959-D (2)

This is from the three "killer" rolls. The "tall" stack to the left is 1940, the three tallish stacks in the middle are the '39s.

You found as many '50 Philly nickels and twice as many '55 Philly nickels as I've found in my lifetime. Cool find!

It would be nice to see some pics of the finds posted. Pics don't need to be perfect, we are not grading we are sharing.

My girlfriend wants to start hunting for halves. She is super excited about it. It would be great doing that together. I just don't want her to get a bunch of skunks and get frustrated.

LMAO. Yeah, I finally told her about what I was doing and she got so excited she's hitting 3 banks today. I told her about a bank near her that I wanted to hit. I went there last week and only had $30.00 on me but got 3 CWR of halves. I didn't get anything but I have a feeling she might because they had a lot and I didn't have time to go back. Now I have more competition in my area!

I need to get my spreadsheets going again. I took a break from CRH for about a year and haven't been updating them again.

Looks like a struck through grease error to me.

She just got a box of halves from the bank. Then she went to the bank I was going to hit and she got $480.00 of CWR!

If she's got $1,000 to drop on a new hobby, I think I'd hold on to her!
