Calling ahead is good advice. Esp on a trip when time is a factor. I'd ask for halves and Eisenhowers. :)

Teller tray!!! I went to a Wells Fargo bank to dump. The manager sees me coming with a bag in the parking lot and he comes out of the store to greet me. He tells me their coin machine is down and to go to a branch down the street. I asked him if he had any half dollars. He invited me in and asked all his tellers. The last one said yes I have some. I went to her and she said some of these are different. She gave me the $16.50 and I smiled because I saw all the silver. This was in Lubbock.

Yes, my total haul was 1 90%er and 20 40%ers. It's good to be back! I'll post a picture soon.

Tulia was cleaned out. In fact that whole stretch from Lubbock to Amarillo was. A lot of tellers said "oh someone came by and recently bought ours". This happened at several banks. I stopped by several small cities on the drive too. Same story.

Yeah, only three came from rolls. The rest were teller trays. Two of those were Enders that I didn't notice till I opened the rolls. Felt dumb about that Blunder. But yes, it's great to see silver edges again. A big relief because it had been so long.

Nice job. I was surprised about Tulia, but when you said the entire route was cleaned out, then not so much. From what I have read in the CT, Treasurenet and Coincommunity CRH forums, Texas is extremely picked over and competitive - especially in the Dallas area, which isn't that far from your I-27 route.

Thanks, Christobal. Even my coin dealer friend was impressed when I showed it to him yesterday. Not too often you find a $10+ wheatie in circulation!

Well, I hit a little milestone yesterday. Two Buffalos to bring my CRH herd to 25, and my first EVER Mercury Dime. Ironically, this dime is the same date and mint as the Walker I found a couple of months ago. 43sMerc.jpg 43s-merc.jpg 35-36buffs.jpg

image.jpg Was getting skunks all week. First nine boxes were all skunks. Picked up my last three for the week. The last three made up for all the skunks. Bunch of enders

Had business at the bank today and took advantage to CRH. I had a few bucks and got 3 rolls of nickels. One roll had each ender with a buffalo. Another roll had one buffalo ender. I haven't opened the rolls yet. Rolls were from Dunbar as shown in the pics.

That was all the cash I had on me at the time. It was my wife's bank. She got them. She tells me, "the teller had to walk to the back to get them". It was closing time so yeah in the morning back to the bank.

    I
Run back to that bank and buy the rest of the box! That is a once in a life time opportunity. I had my time with that luck and it was great! Total of 2 boxes was 15v nickels and 33 buffalos! Take the chance while you still have it!

Box of Halves. skunk. 1 silver (40%er) in 12 boxes since I Started up again. Colorado is mined out!!! Well my Texas Quest was fruitful so I am not upset. Gotta dump $950 in halves tomorrow. Not excited about that. I ran the numbers and did you guys know that we are paying $1.38 an ounce for silver with 90% and $3.40 an ounce with 40%? I'll keep Hunting away!

1958P wheatie, in MS, not valuable, but damn sure is pretty. Only the 2nd wheatie I've found in a roll with full luster
