Have you got halves from the 1800's before?

I hit one of the small banks I like to wander into every once in a while this morning, and the teller had $6 of halves loose... I noticed one of them right away so I bought them all. She also had $80 in rolled halves, but they were skunky... 20160906-65half.jpg At my usual branch, my morning run of 25 rolls of nickels produced 19 pre-60s including a 43-S & 44-P with a lamination on the obverse... not a bad morning! 43s-44p-20160906_0003.jpg

Thanks! That was actually my first one among my 14 40%-ers... I still need a '66.

It's the same way with hitting Coinstar machines... can get very frustrating, but then when you're about to give up, something really good pops up!

Bad news today. I called one of my normal banks that I get boxes of halves from. I always call ahead before I go pick up. They said they are charging $7.50 a box now. That's one less box a week. I never had them on order with that bank but they always had them. With all the skunks I have been getting $7.50 a box is no where worth it.

I don't blame you for not paying that stupid fee... try to see if you can buy individual rolls from them instead. If you're lucky they may not charge you per roll.

Something awesome happened after this incident. I called another Wells Fargo and asked if they had a box. I normally don't go to this one because the previous manager said she would order me a box every once and awhile. Well they got a new manager and he picked up the phone when I called. I asked for a box and he said it's your lucky day, someone was supposed to pick one up and they didn't so yes I have one. When I went to pick up the box I asked if I could order them regularly and the manager said no problem. I'm totally stoked. Now if I can just find some silvers. I've gone through 9 boxes since I started CRH again and I have found just one silver, a 40%er. Gotta keep hustling and hope my luck will turn!

Great finds. John, I noticed in your signature you've been finding 90% quarters. Were those in rolls?

Same box as the last IHC... I'm not complaining, mind you, but why does it seem that in every fairy tale there is always am ugly step-sister?

I had a bank that tried to charge me 20 dollars a box for a handling fee for a penny box. 25 dollars in pennies for 45 dollars... Nah not worth it.

Is that bank in Highlands Ranch?:) My wells fargo orders boxes for like five different people. Plus I forgot to get my box.:)

    Thanks, Bman!

4 of the 5 quarters were in rolls. 3 of them were in customer wrapped ones, 1 was in a machine wrapped one, and 1 was in a CoinStar machine.
