Last two boxes for this week. These boxes were Brinks which I usually find to all be skunks. First box today was a skunk. Box two though produced the following.
1-Walker (my first find in a MWR), 2- Franklins, 2- 90% Kennedys and 5-40%. Thanks Brinks, still don't trust you.

    Done for the week.

I've got my Texas trip through the Panhandle in two weeks. I will be driving from Denver to Lubbock. Tons of small towns I will be driving through, I am banking that CWR will be a plenty. I'll try some boxes of BWR too. I should be ok by the end of the month. I set a lofty goal for me of 15oz this month. Hopefully I can do it!

    Box of Halves: Nothing.

Well, I am going to have high hopes for my Texas trip in two weeks to pull me out of this slump. I'm getting 6 boxes next week too. It will be happy times again soon.

I'm glad your liking it. It only gets better from here. For example I'm well spoiled in nickels after finding a grand total of 16 v nickels and 32 buffalos in two boxes. These things happen and sooner or later it's going to happen to you. Nice find and good luck on finding more keepers.

Can you please post a pic with all finds from this week and post a grand total? I'm curious to see what all that silver would look like together.

A fun day. Two 90 year old wheats, a Buffalo, and a War Nickel amongst 14 rolls of cents and 35 rolls of nickels. I also got a 44-S wheat in change! 26cents36dbuff43p.jpg

Dudes, I need Help! I just dumped a box of halves at the bank and there is a coinshow near me today. I am craving silver. I could buy a tube of rounds at the show or go get another box of halves. Lately I've been getting nothing in my boxes. Advice?

Not bad at all... '28 Buffalo, '44-D and '49-S Jeffersons, '66 Half, and that '34 Wheat are all good little highlights!

Honestly I think we tend to re-circulate the same halves over and over again. From us - to the bank - to the truck service and their coin counting/rolling service - back to us again. I think the best thing we can do is put as many halves back into people's hands as possible, so that we don't see those again and again.
Spend them. I spend about $80 per week or more in halves. Some of that is at my booth at the Farmers Market, where I sell the dates I grow. but at least half of the $80 is in retail stores: fast food, gas, coffee, dollar store, what ever. Most of the time the people receiving them think "Wow cool" I have one Del Taco where there are 2 young women who get all excited every time I come by. They "buy" all of them out of the register. I pay for my whole meal with just halves. My coffee just in halves. and so on. By doing this I am taking almost a box per month of common halves out of circulation and won't have to look at them again. that means on to the next box of possibilities.
I realize this is not a BIG solution but I think it helps the over all quality of the boxes we get. Also more people become interested in coins. I know at least 3 of the folks I pay with halves have started collecting them.
Just a though. Your mileage may vary.
Oh, and I sort out the scratched, marked, gunked, damaged, and ugly ones, they go into rolls and back to the deposit bank. I give out (pay out) nice clean ones.
