Nickels have been great to me this year too. I'm not sure what my stats are though. I do hope to hit it big with the 7 boxes of nickels I ordered for next week.

It's all good. Something seemed "off" with your post. ;)

I've got to add up my totals for searched coins... been so focused on finding that I haven't updated them recently. I'll be doing my July 31st update soon.

Does anyone know what the hardest Jefferson nickels to find in circulation are?

Thanks. Do you know if any wartime years are on that list?

Not quite. I found my 50-D a year or so ago. Posted a photo of it in this thread. :)

    I'm missing: 1938-S, 1939-S, 1942-S, 1943-D, 1944-D, 1944-S, 1945-D

Haven't filled a Jefferson slot in a good long while.

Interesting! If we combined our finds, we would only be missing the 1938-S and the 1943-D!

I will be filling lots of slots because I never put any in slots but rather a big box filled with 100s of old nickels I have found roll hunting.

I found a 1950 d a nd threw it right into the box. I did not realise it was a key date. When I get around to it I will have my 38 d and 50 d ready to go into the book. I'm not sure if I found any of the other dates during my career. When I first started I did not know any of the key dates in the Jefferson nickel series and just collected them in a nickel box. Now I have a big mess I have to sort due to my lack of organization when I first started.

I could throw my 1943 d into the pot and we would only be missing the 1938 s !

Lucky you!!! I'm fairly organized. Usually the 40,41,46,54D,56D,57D,58D, and 59D coins go in a jar... the rest into rolls or tubes. Eventually I do empty out the jar and roll those more common ones.

Now we gotta find someone who has found that 38-S! :)

my set is full and has many that are upgraded, so that now pretty much everything 60's forward is at least AU with most Bu. Still lots of ex-fine in the early years, and a very few fine, so I'm still on the lookout for ones that will bump me up a few grade points.
all have been found in circulation.

PS, I did pick up a second album not long ago. I do like that "yes, filled one" feeling. Its fun!

50 rolls today, only 14 Pre-60s but one of them filled a hole. This 1945-P which literally looks like it was through the war! I'm now down to needing the 38-S, 39-D, 43-D, 50-D, and 55 Philly to complete my set out of CRH! 1945p080216-1.jpg
