Yeah, think about it, they still have entire boxes of 1999D going out 17 years later. Were they just sitting around that long? I can see how pennies could be all current stuff but not the halves.

Those are the valuable ones. I found a CH BU 83-P and 83-D the past couple of days... Good luck!

    $10 dimes - nada
$4 nickels - nada (1 was an older looking roll that didn't have anything before 1964 in it, and the other was solid 2016-P)

$5 pennies - 1948, (2) 1956-D, 1969 Canada, nicer looking 1960-D & 1972-D for the CRH Whitman folder. Also some of the cruddiest, most corroded Zincolns I've ever found in a roll.

The Mint had a bunch of these they had never released. Also a batch of 1996. I got a box of those too a while back. I guess we have been chipping away at the pallets of halves enough that the they sent them to the Federal Reserve for distribution. Must have been a year or so ago. They are still showing up.

I'm worried that the bank I got them from will just keep giving the 1999D boxes for awhile.

It pays to look in family member's jars.

    1926 P Lincoln.

I think my good luck streak has started! But then, it was thrown into the washing machine and then the dryer, so Lincoln had quite the ride before being encapsulated forever. Luckily he was undamaged, partly do to his extreme PVC damage.

In my area, I find an extremely high number of BU 1997-P halves - both in MWRs and CWRs.. I'm on the West coast, so this is very perplexing.

Ok so I think my silver for dimes has dried up for me again. At one point I was finding a silver every box. A month and a half ago it was 1 in 2 boxes. Now its a four box skunk streak. This sucks.

I tend not to do boxes for either dimes or quarters... unless I sample some rolls from the tellers at my bank and find them in those rolls... you can get skunked for very long periods of time in both... I also look for 2009 dimes, and get frustrated with them because they just aren't there... I have found less than 20 combined so far between the two mints.

    Have you found silver quarters?

Yes... 4 to date in over 21,000 coins searched... and I found 1 in a Coinstar reject bin last week.

I have never found a silver quarter by myself. But a family friend found 2 in their drawer at wawa, and then I found 1 in their change bin at their house. Also, I went to my aunts house and found 1 in her bin. So 0 in my change, 4 in others haha.
