Both boxes of cents I got today are solid 2016P. That's 3 weeks in a row now. It usually happens around this time of year...

Got a box of halves today. Hopefully I get some luck this time. I have been through 8 boxes and have been pretty unlucky. I am doing incantations over the box right now, hoping for the best.

 

Found a Pokemon Token in a box of halves. Worst luck ever. Now this box is going to cost me 50cents

 

Get used to it, Bman33. For most of us, this is a hobby and we lose a little bit on each box. In my case, it's usually short rolls, or foreign coins, plus gasoline to get the coins. I don't mind. I've spent so much on my other hobbies, coin losses are a drop in the bucket.

Have several boxes to swap at the bank, but haven't had any time to get new ones. Wish the bank didn't close at 4p most days...

 

About $90 in mixed rolls of halves... 2 40%, a sba dollar, and a 1992S Olympic commemorative (gymnastics).

 

Box of BWR dimes...Nothing. I started just looking at the edges on dimes and have gotten skunked every time. Might be bad luck to do that.

 

1/4 box of BWR dimes: 1936D Merc! My first one. I rubbed the role really hard and said an incantation before I opened it.

 

It's not about luck. It's about numbers. I HATE searching dimes any other way that by the edge. Too small.

 

Yeah, it is. I ended up pulling out 2 silvers in that box of dimes. That's good enough for me. I'm hooked on dimes right now after getting that Merc so I'm going to get a third box in less than 24 hours.

 

I used to do 4 boxes a week and would average 1 per box. Bags were better when I could get ahold of them.

 

I found 4 silver dimes last year that I didn't notice from looking at the sides and one was a 44 Merc. All had dirty rims.

 

Wow, that's what I was afraid of, missing one of those jewels by just looking at the edges.

I'm getting the impression that one of my long-time pick up banks is cutting me off without going to the trouble of actually telling me that. The last few weeks I've gone in they "didn't have coins available." There has been a big turnover in the tellers there recently, including the one who keeps the coin vault. I guess I'll just make them a dump site and see if I can find another branch to bring into the fold.

 

That happened to me. I did exactly what you talked about.

 

Mine have just flat out told me they wouldn't do it anymore or would start charging me for them. Never had them beat around the bush like that.
