With the BWR there is a technique in which you can pry up the crimped edge, and just slide the coins out. If you are careful enough, you can slide the coins back in, and you don't have to waste a wrapper.

Generally it's a sign that the roll has already been picked over.

I have pics of the VDB but I didn't take a picture of the pile of 72 wheats. I also have pictures of the Indian heads somewhere. Here are some snaps of the VDB:

Fair representation, but mostly worn coins, most won't be good enough to update my books.

The 1935 was the oldest. This 1941 was the best older coin.

As I've mentioned many times here, I used to work at a convenience store. It was adjacent to a low income neighborhood and just across the street was an upper class neighborhood. I got some pretty incredible coins at that store. The store is in sort of an exurban area, behind the store is a neighborhood but across the street is a horse farm. We had customers spending silver on things like cigarettes and booze.

You're not understanding what I'm saying. I know what a rewrapped roll is. I'm getting sealed boxes with the paper tape still intact, and the sides of the boxes haven't been messed with. These are boxes I've ordered. They have rewrapped rolls in them. Sometimes they're good, and hard to tell they were opened, like your technique. But this box was obvious, they just folded over one side. The carrier service sealed the box up with rewraps inside. And delivered to the bank.
You'd think they'd verify the rolls.

As an aside, I'll say it again: I think it's a poor move to bring the rolls back in rewrapped "BWR." Get an account at another bank with a coin counting machine. It saves other searchers in the area a lot of headache. I've had to cross a number of dump banks off my list. And your tellers will thank you.

Cigarettes and booze are a lot more important than coins...

Yup, taking coins back to the institution you got them from creates bad JuJu. And next time you go back for coins to search they may well hand you the coins you brought back!

    5 February finds:

    $25 BWR 1c
    4 pre-41 wheats, '17, '19, '36 and '37
    14 40s and 50s dated cents including a '43 steel cent
    2 68-74 S mints
    2 Canada GVI cents

    8 February finds:
    $25 BWR 1c
    2 '44-S cents
    22 40s and 50s dated
    2 '70-S

    $100 BWR 5c
    2 1939
    10 40s and 50s dated S mints
    11 other 40s dates

Took that load to the credit union to cash out and found a '63-D dime in the reject slot.

Worked through the last half of this week's box of cents - all CWR. Only a handful of wheats, but the box had the highest density of pre-82 coppers I've run across since I started hunting. Pulled 801 coppers from the box - 32%.

Only really interesting find was this very flat '77.

On the plus side, this box allowed me to add my 1000th roll of copper cents to the stack... you know, in case copper is ever worth selling again. :)

2 Boxes of cents from last week. 27 Wheats including a 1945P and 1958D that still have some red to them. The 58D has more red than is in the picture. Couldn't for the life of me get it to show.

Also pulled out my 50th 1998 WAM and my 65th 2000 WAM.

And here is the 1945P Walker from last week too. Why don't they make coins like this anymore? Shame.
