My first reply in this thread. I lurked for years & about 4 years ago started searching bank boxes thanks to you all posting your results, AND thanks so much (not) or yes for getting me addicted.
Anyway, about three weeks ago, maybe four....as my work was gearing up and I started on something for a respected member of this forum I was, a few rolls at a time, at night, finishing a box of cents.
Two IHC's, 1887 & 1893. One was an ender. Both very good to fine. First ones I have found while searching those darn boxes that you all have gotten me addicted to. There was also 20 wheaties but nothing under '44 and nothing special.

    Cheers

Went through 25 rolls of nickels today, fresh from the bank. Had some sweet luck! A 1914 plain Buffalo and a 1959-D with what looks like a double eye. :)

Yeah that 1914 is my oldest one - went in my book! :)

I don't find them often. Even though I go through boxes of nickels regularly (about one per week). I find maybe one buffalo for every 3 silver nickels and I find maaaybe one silver every box and a half? One box this year had 2 silvers, but several had none.

Every box I've ever gotten has had either two buffaloes, two war nicks or one of each and I get two a week.

$120 CWR Nickels: 29 pre-1960 keepers and 1 45-S war nickel. That was the first silver I've found in over a month. The pickings have been pretty slim around here.

You must not have many collectors in your area Dilly. Lucky you!

I live just north of Boston and it's always slim pickins around here. Some of my best boxes were from NH, near my folks place.

Yesterday my bank only had two halfs, and I bought them.
When I got home I was like wow off centered
    Then I saw an edge
I opened the coin. It was a magician coin.

I feel the same way when I get a Canadian dollar in a roll of US dollar coins. Nickels? Eh. Pennies, dimes, quarters... OK. But dollars?!

Of course the bank won't take any foreign currency back, even though they sold it to me.

I know. My bank will take it, but won't give you money for it.
