Lee, those 2 rolls were not colorized by the US Mint. #4u8 are the 2005 Bison nickels. If you see color on the nickels then someone colorized them after buying the 2 rolls.

But I am the one who bought them from the U.S. Mint, & this is the way they were when I opened the package.

They have toned. Not colorized but natural toning. Nothing that special.

Yes, they could be toned. But when someone says a colored bison nickel I think of these:

I got a box of pennies today and there was more than one wheat per roll: 63 wheats in total. Much better than average! Unfortunately, there were only 4 pre-1940 wheaties. One was a 1914 (very worn), another a 1911 in pretty good shape and TWO 1909 VDB's! First time that's happened...

I got a box of cents from my bank the other day. Every roll has almost the same mix. 10 2014D, 30 asst. 1997 through 2006, 1, or 2 1970's, and a few 1978, 1979. I went through 1/2 so far and only about 20 from 1980;s a couple of wheats and a 1946 CDN cent AU.
I don't understand. A lot of the 2000 through 2007 look uncirculated. How do they get the same proportion in all the rolls? Is it like lets take some bags of 2000's and some bags of 2014's and dump them in a roll machine?
I've looked through hundreds of 2002D through 2004D for one of the DDR's but no luck. Does anyone know the URS on these ddr's?
