Stopped at a few banks today and was happy with 19 part silver halves. But then I stopped again and got 7 rolls the teller told me had already been looked through. I bought them anyway.

Sure enough the first roll said 1990-98 and nothin' but clad. The next roll was also a dud. But there were 2 forty percenters in the next five rolls...hidden in between 98 ninety percenters including Franklins and Walkers! 5 solid rolls! Here's a picture of one:

I went back in and got a solid roll of silver dimes plus a roll of old nickels (some silver).

A good day...and the depositer runs a restaurant, has a lot more, and wants to see more tomorrow! Wish me more luck...

    Box of Halves: 3x40%
2 Boxes of Dimes: 1x1964 Silver

After 2 years of taking my halves to a bank with a machine, they refused me and said that they wouldn't exchange my coins anymore. I have another bank with a machine nearby but it doesn't take half dollars. Looks like I'll be busy with nickels and dimes then.

    $10 halves: 1 proof (1989-S)

$10 nickels: possible 1955 D over S? See photo below - mint mark is funny looking, may have gotten some circulation damage to it as well. 1 Canada, 1 Bermuda

    $10 pennies: Is there such a thing as a 1996 "No S" proof? Found a shiny '96 with a proof-like dark/mirrored background. Photo below next to a shiny copper and a shiny zinc for comparison. Also: 245 coppers (24.5%), 4 wheats (41, 46 (x2), 57-D), 1 Canada (1980), 4 x 2009

Finally after searching a blinding amount of Lincolns over the past several years I found my first 1998 wide AM error. I know my eyes are bad and thought maybe I was just over looking them but I finally found one so I will keep searching even if I can't spot the little things it's still fun.

Hit up a few banks today asking for halves - most had none, or only a handful of clads. Came to a Bank of America branch (normally slim pickings) and a teller had $60 worth. Thinking it was probably a CRHer's re-rolled junk, I bought one roll and continued on my way. Back at the car, I opened up that roll and saw a 68 staring at me - total tally was 1 90% and 12 40%. So naturally I go back and buy the remaining 5 rolls. First 4 had nothing. Final roll yielded 2 more 40%. Sure glad I got that silver-loaded roll first, and not the junk.

Just signed up and am poking around this informative site. I'm an overnight shift supervisor at CVS with have access to all the registers and the safe. In the past two years I've found a few items for my collection: One 1964 Kennedy half, One 1968 Kennedy half, Seven Washington quarters, One Standing Liberty quarter, Eighty-Five Roosevelt dimes, Eight Winged Liberty dimes, One George VI CAN dime, One Elizabeth II CAN dime, Twenty war nickels, Eleven Buffalo nickels (a couple were dateless), 950 Wheat pennies (two 1909, a few low teens and one steel '43), two Indian Head pennies, One 1929 - low 9 - George V CAN penny (VF+-EF). A few key date coins were also found, but containing no silver value.

Some months I'll only get a few silver coins; some weeks I get a lot. So far my best weeks pulled 80 and 85 cents face value and my worst month netted zilch. I haven't found any silver for the past 2 weeks which is so far disappointing.

The past 2 months I've started going after paper notes too, finding: One 1928f 2$ US Note (Very Good), One 1963 5$ US Note (Fine+), Thirty-Seven 1$ star notes (G-EF), Seven 5$ star notes (F-VF, 1 was AU), Four 10$ notes (F-VF+), Six 20$ star notes (F-VF), One 1990 50$ star note (VF).

Everything I find I buy at face value and put into my collection. The best part is getting paid while cracking open rolls, sifting through change compartments and flipping though stacks of notes.

    ☺ Happy hunting‼

Can't give an opinion without my 10x loupe

No proofs outside San Francisco Mint for 1996 Lincoln Memorial Cent. Could be polished. Look for hair line scratches in the field that curve in a clockwise fashion.
