I do not know what to do here. I have checked every bank in town and no one will order for me,h Halves that is I can get pennies but mostly brand new and same with Nickles and dimes. Another Central NY time when you just want to move.lol

$30 CWR halves - 1 NIFC (2005-P). The rolls looked really promising - old paper, held together with some Scotch tape. Something straight out of an old man's sock drawer. Then the first coin that came out was a 2000, and I knew I wasn't going to find much.

    $4 loose halves - skunk

$260 lot of cents (from 3 different locations)

    140 wheats including: 1913, 1915d!!!, 1917, 1919d!!!, 1928 (vf/xf), 1931!!!, a few S mints from the 40s/50s.

Also received a bag of foreign coins, mostly modern canadians but it had a 50% silver dime and quarter in it, some Swiss 1/2 and 1 Franc and some coins from the 50s which I need to research.

Im about $150 into the cent lot and found some DDOs (72,83,06,11) which I still need to match up, and a super clean 2000 WAM.

A dateless IHC, looked to be 188x, but its in horrible shape

To my surprise, I didnt find many canadian cents, maybe 5.

Ill add more info when I match everything up.

Some good luck on Monday. Stopped in at a bank I almost never go to and was surprised to find they had 4 rolls of halves. Even more surprised to find these 13 proofs scattered among the clad in the four rolls.

But better still were these 2 64's and one each 65,66, 67, 68-D, 69-D, 68-S and 70-S. Two silver proof coins! All told, a bit over 1.5 ounces of silver. Obviously someone's collection: one from each date (though I was expecting a 64 and 64-D, not two 64's).

Little did I know Friday would be even better...at a different branch of the same bank!

Okay, so here is Friday's (today's) find. I decided to check out another branch of the bank I went to on Monday. It's only 15 miles away. Actually, I had gone there Wednesday looking for halves and they told me one absent teller had three rolls and she would be in Thursday afternoon. I couldn't make it Thursday and almost forgot to go on Friday. But late this afternoon I remembered and I'm glad I did.

I immediately recognized the three rolls as old wrappers. And the teller spent a long time looking for a black magic marker to cross out some writing on the rolls. I was pretty excited to catch a glimpse of the writing: it said "Kennedy" plus some date. When I got the rolls back to the car, I was hoping for the best. Well, I got close. Not three rolls of 1964's. One roll of 1966, one of 1968-D and one of 16 mixed 40%er's and 4 bicentennials! That's over eight ounces of silver! It made me happy so I arranged a happy face picture to share:

Before today's find I was at 293 silver coins for the year. Seemed like 300 would be a good goal. Kinda went over: the 56 I found today puts me at 349!

Good luck hunters! Hope everyone finds something this month!

abuckmaster, be thankful you have the option of getting halves at all. I cannot get halves in my area. I once paid $7.50/box for four boxes out of my area while on vacation. Since then I've decided it wasn't worth it because my finds were nearly zilch. I have since given up on MWR halves.

where on earth can you not get halves??? where i live, they're everywhere.

Heck, they even still circulate in rural areas near here.
