Its definitely not silver.

 

Searched a box of halfs and found two franklins!

Drove up to St. Augustine to be with family. New of a bank that always has halves. Bought 400.00 worth and only found 2 40%ers and a 1968 Colombian 50 centavos coin (non silver).

 

almost $500 in halves and $300 in $2's. NADA and I left my wallet with $1300 at the bank. When I turned back to get it, they had just closed but opened the door to give it to me. No money missing as far as I can tell. (gets hard to keep track when you go to many banks).

 

Searched 2 boxes of halves this week:
1 1967
1 1987-P
1 2005-D

But the best find was an almost completely worn smooth Peace Dollar. Almost every letter and number is worn off! No date, but still worth scrap value and definitely cool!
I saw it on the teller's coin tray and asked her if i could buy the "big dollar coin". she said: "Oh is that what that is? Sure."
I just decided to make it my new "pocket piece" to replace my very worn 1976 Ike. I believe that this had been someone else's pocket piece for many years, now it's my turn.

 

Box of halves, NADA

3rd box in a row without silver. Good thing I'm getting lucky with the hand rolled halves.

 

I just buy rools from anywhere where I see a good deal.

 

Cool! My dad had a 1923 Peace he always carried in his pocket. My sister has it now and all she can see is a small part of the eagle. Memory keepsake!

 

I don't search halves often and I noticed you kept a 1987P and a 2005D are there certain Kennedy's I should look for when roll searching I keep the silver and the clads and the proofs, but I haven't started a set so I was wondering if any of the others are holding on to after they have been through the sorter and no telling where. Thanks Kent

 

When I sort threw halves I not only look for silver but I also take a peek at the halves edges that are unworn and sharp. I find alot of hole fillers this way for my album.

Box of halves 3-40% and a 1940 p walker, very excited. 1 more box tomorrow!

 

Went through 180 in halfs only to find 1 frankie. So started box of lincs and found blank planchet.boy my luck goes from bad to ...... Any ways not finished box yet we'll see but what a way to end day....

On better note i did manage to get 6 blue seal 1's from my favorite teller she had them held for me one is actually star so all in all guess not too bad.

I was talking to a teller at a grocery store trying to find the new quarters or cents....nada. I did notice one lone half in her tray and it looked silver. I asked her about buying it and she said she thought it was an old silver one, turned out to be a 1964 Kennedy!

 

Went through another box of halves and found a Kennedy bonanza:
6 - 69
6 - 68
8 - 67
4 - 66
(24 40%ers)

and
6 - 64s



found another 20 rolls of LP3.

Someone got my 2 boxes of halves (actually 2 people) from one of my banks, so no more boxes until next week

 

i got three territorial quarter. 1 d.c. 1 p.r. and 1 samoa. i forgot i use 1 d.c. to buy something.

 

Ok Bob, for the record I hate you!!! LOL J/J Very nice. Crazy that my box of halves from the same place had nothing..sigh.

Anyway, I searched a couple of boxes this week and found a 2005D, 1986S, 2001 Balboa. Then a stop at the gas station and he had a 1964 and 1968 in the drawer. Starting to wonder why I search boxes lol.

Anyone know much about the Panamanian Medio Balboa?
