2 boxes of halves - Skunk for silver. But, I did find $20 in 2012 NIFC and one 1974 S.

$1,000 in halves yielded nothing but a 1992 obverse grease error. I'm done looking thru boxes in my home state b/c they do not yield any silver, NIFC, or proofs.

No premium on them at the moment. Odds are they'll go up though. If you don't need the money I would sit on em for 10-15 years; I know BU rolls from the early 2000's are going for double face value. Could earn you money; could be that you have 25 bucks in pennies sitting around...up to you.

$75 worth of cents from a credit union:

One very very badly corroded and nearly unidentifiable IHC that has to be the worst looking IHC I have ever found roll searching. There were also a couple of pre-41 wheats, one is a 1916. Have to go through the nickels and dimes later.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm hoping it's not because someone passed away. I'm trying to think of it as someone with an extensive collection decided to put some back into the wild for the rest of us to enjoy.

No matter how the coins got into the roll, at least somebody who appreciates them ended up with them. They could have stayed in circulation until they wore completely out and the mint would have melted them down.
