Bank told me they had $150 in halves. Got excited when I looked down and saw old casino rolls. Mostly from Trump Castle, 1 from Ballys, and 2 just wrapped in brown and white rollers. Got even more excited when they told me someone got rid of them with a bunch of quarters dimes etc.. and had had them for a long long time. Got the dimes as well. Nothing good in the dimes and only 1 1964 half in the bunch...oh well. The half was one of my first enders though!

    Congrats. I'm still waiting for a 39-D.

I have found like half a dozen of them, they are almost as scarce as the '50-D but a bit under the radar as they were not hoarded at the time they were released like the '50-D. My piece must have been in a looted collection or something because it is in AU condition.

I went through a box of pennies and 10 rolls of nickels. All BWR.

    Pennies: 18, 28, 46-D, 50-S, 51-D, 56-D, 59Dx2, 60x2 (one BU), 60-Dx3, 69-S, 70-Sx2, 71-Sx2

    Nickels: 40x2, 42-D (early issue), 46, 47-S, 52-S, 58-D, 60-D, 2009-D

There was one penny in two of the nickel rolls.

Been too long. Met a gentleman who wanted to sell some coins out of town. Stopped by a nearby bank to ask for halves. Picked up the following:

    $100 CWR: 2x40%, 1945 WL Half.

    $100 BWR: Skunk

That might be what I need to start back up again. :)

Why? When I search nickels I only keep the buffalos and proof jeffersons.

How many proof Jeffersons do you find? I have never found one. Some proof halves sometimes.

I have only searched rolls twice in my lifetime. out of $30 nickels I found 4 of them. Going to be searching halves next week when my bank gets them.

Any tips on how to speed up the process? searching coins takes forever.

You know that late 60s to early 70s circulation nickels were struck in San Francisco, right? Or, very lucky.
