While out of town today I stopped at a local bank and asked for halves. The two tellers came up with $420 of CWR. When I told the lead teller I would take all of them she about passed out; she was happy to see them go. I found 6-40%'ers among them. Better in silver than my last nine boxes of Loomis halves.

Box of Nickels: very interesting box

    36 pre1960, 1945D War, 2x Buffs (1920, 1936) and...

a first for me...a two-tailed coin. I'm guessing it's a magician's coin. However, could the US Mint ever make a 2-headed or 2-tailed coin or is it impossible? Just wondering. Image630.jpg Image631.jpg

look for a seam, usually just inside the rim...looks like it might be there in top pic...

I pulled a 1950 nickel out of a roll last night. I flipped it over hoping to see if it had a D mintmark but unfortunately it didn't. Still a key date and an uncommon nickel to find in circulation. I'm happy with it.

I have tried almost every bank in town and no one can give me IKES ......occasionally a teller will get a handful of worthless IKES but that's about it... My real luck is in the halves .... every month I go through about $30,000.00 in halves. It takes time, but most of the time it's well worth it. FOR EXAMPLE: I found 37 40% in one box. Another time I found 3 walkers in one roll..... and for the big find... I found 70 40% and 90% in $3,000.00 of halves. THAT WAS THE BIGGEST FIND YET!
My most recent search I found an entire box or brilliant Uncirculated bicentennials. The rappers were eroding and were brittle and braking and crumbling..... I still have the entire box. THAT WAS A SHOCKER OF A FIND!

Dumped $500 worth of half dollars at the bank and the teller asked me if I wanted any Ikes. I said yes. She said how much. I saw whatever you have. She proceeded to pull out 70. After I brought them home, I searched them for varieties. They were all 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977 and 1978 Ikes. I found a 1976 Var I and 2x1976D Var I. Not bad...now I have to find a way to get rid of Ikes. :)
