Wow! I love the patina on those walking Libertys. I have found a few Franklin halves in circulation with similar patina. Your Franklin would grade higher than mine would.

I'm not aware of a DDO for 1973 S. Can you post closer pictures?

not exactly roll searching, but i had a good haul at the bank today. someone decided to cash in a small coin collection from an estate, and i was walking through when the teller was dumping the coin into the counter. lo and behold, i heard silver clinking! i didn't get all of it, as she had already started to run it through the counter, but i managed to save a stash. i'm sitting here sorting them out, and this is the preliminary count:

    silver halves: (60 total)
    1*1942 walking liberty
    2*1943
    1*indecipherable, possibly late 30's

    2*1952 franklins
    2*1953
    2*1954
    1*1957
    4*1960
    3*1962
    4*1963

    16*1964 kennedys
    22*'65-69 40%

    1*1962 quarter
    3*1964

    2*mercury dimes
    5*silver roosies

    1*1856 half dime (!)

    1*1882 shield nickel
    1*buffalo nickel
    16*war nickels

    1*1871 3 cent nickel

several steel cents and wheat cents
and a badly worn matron head large cent. can't tell the date at all.

also, i let three of the tellers keep $10 in silver halves each! and that's just what i managed to recover today. there are some bags that came off the counter, that i'll be chomping at the bit to sort and roll up on monday!

working in a bank does not offer many perks. this situation is one of the few. i like to consider it my "other" retirement plan :) of course, i would need a haul like this once a month to make it an actual retirement plan :(

I have a hard time believing this. What kind of idiot cashes in old coins at a bank for face value? I can understand if they're in rolls and therefore unseen, but loose?
