12 boxes of pennies searched so far and I got 167 wheaties a nice 1913D wheatie that I posted pics of a couple weeks ago :D

still not done looking for regular errors in all the pennies like the 1997 double ear and the 98-2000 wide AM

I used 2 mint bags from banks 1 for returning crap and 1 for still to search it's easier to sort by the year 1st to run through them faster (least my opinion)

what I have found though is a 1998 wide AM and a 1918 canadian penny and a 1952 dime...I LOL'ed when I opened the roll it was in... :D

should I be hoarding pre 82's for copper?

nice coin finds you all i am searching 20 rolls of pennies in the mornning i like those cause it is more chances to get coins i have always found wheats and canadians have not struck out yet also if those coins shown in yalls posts are any indication you may have struck gold in the middle of the rolls maybe bu or au coins i found a 1955 wheatie in my last set of rolls sadly no double die but an interesting conversation piece as it would grade au 65 or higher i am no expert but its very nice very clean coin i once was asked what my pocket piece was at the time i would of said my 1907 indian penny but i really believe this makes a better pocket piece in closing i would like to ask what is your pocket piece was it in a roll like mine or found on or in the ground or bought by you

LOL, those are not destined for the pocket. Maybe if I decide to convert them to spendable money.

1999 wide am is an error where the mint used the reverse dies for the 1999 proof coins instead of the regular dies. Hard to find. Usually the A and the M of America are touching.

Eddiespin that's an awesome find right on top. I always dump the box before going through it and scan over the rolls hoping for something just like that

You guys kill me with these finds. Since joing this forum I have searched 2 bags and 9 boxes of pennies. That would be a total of 650 rolls I average about 7 wheats per box nothing special an AU red from the 60's or 70's and probably 15 to 20 of the new Lincolns each time I search, but I have not found a single Wide AM or Close AM, or any of the double dies listed in the Red Book. How close does the AM have to be on the 1992's to be considered a Close AM variety. I had several last night that I ahd to look at with 20x loop to see the gap most of the time I spot it pretty easily. It seemed there were about two or three different size gaps some closer than others but never one touching. I don't bother with RPM's because I am not sure of the differance in RPM and just a filled mint mark. How hard is it to find a Double ear 84 or the AM varieties or even the 1995 DDO. I will keep searching although I may go blind doing it. Also do any of you ever find older nickels that are BU or have steps or is it a waste of time searching those roll. Thanks for your time and way to go y'all have made some great finds. Thanks Kent

You will find a WAM if you keep looking. The most common is the 2000 WAM, then the 1998 and the 1999 is the rarest. I was VERY lucky to find this 1999, especially in this condition. They are very rare indeed, especially in this condition.

The 1984 doubled ear and 1995 DDO are very rare, the ear is more so than the DDO. These are nearly impossible to find.

You'll need a LOT of luck to find the 1992 and 1992-D CLAM's, they are by far the rarest of all these with only 3 or 4 found of each. Either of those will easily fetch > $1000+ depending on condition. There's a lot of variation in their reverses, I've thought many times that I may have a 92 CLAM, but it's really due to die deterioration that causes the letters to spread.

Thanks for that info on rarity of these errors and way to go on that 1999 that is sweet. I love searching rolls mostly pennies but will go through any of them I told my wife it is like playing the lottery and never losing. You either come out ahead or break even no form of gambeling gives you those odds. I'll keep searching and y'all keep rubbing my nose in it with those great finds. just kidding I am always glad to see them Good Luck Kent
