Did my 2 boxes of nickels last night. The 2 boxes gave me a 1925 Buf, 2 wars (43p and 45p), an 09p and 09d, as well as a pretty nice 1938s. While not a hole filler, it is a definite upgrade to the piece of crap that was in there. There were also 4 or 5 1939 but alas not a "D" in the group.

Gotta love finding buffs. If I could choose between finding wars or buffaloes I'd pick buffs.

Me too. Though I do still need 3 wars to finish off my whitman...
I'd also love to find a V nickel. After $5700 searched I have yet to snag one.

Here goes...my first post to Cointalk, and my first time coin roll hunting. I started with a box of cents which I got from a Bank of America in the financial district of San Francisco.

    Keepers out of 50 rolls:
    13 Wheats
    1940,1942,1946s,1951s(2),1952,1953s,1955d(2),1956d,1957d,1958d(2)

    12 2009 Lincoln Bicentennials.

    1 1984 Canadian Cent

I kept approximately 400 1959-81 copper memorial cents. I noticed that the older copper coins seemed to hold up somewhat better than the newer zinc coins. Also found it interesting that I found more Wheats than 2009's.

I'm getting back into coin collecting again. This has really been a fun way to procure old coins. I'm looking forward to picking up another box next week!

The first pic shows the double die at end of libertys spike.
The second pic shows the die marker.

This is the link to the double die listing. http://doubleddie.com/231727.html

Finished $100 worth of cents this morning. First 3 boxes were sub par with 8, 7, and 3 wheats respectively. 4th box was a God-send. Had my first 6-in-a-roll along with a couple of triples and a quadruple for a grand total of 31. Oh, and a 1905 IH (my 5th found this year) :) :) :)

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how nice it was. That was also the most wheats I've ever found in a box. Too bad they were all 40's and 50's with the exception of one crusty 1939.

    Bambooski Obsessed YN :)

    $30 in pennies: 5 wheats (oldest 1940), 2 Canadian (oldest 1961) about 75% 2013s...
Many of the rolls were 99% 2013s, with one or two dirty 1990s pennies. Almost like someone did that on purpose.o_O

I got one 1974 Ike from the teller’s tray. J
