I was told that we should use the Coin Chat forum for metal detector finds and, if enough interest grows, there may be a forum dedicated to Metal Detectors in the near future. I will start a post there now.

So over the weekend I searched a binks box of cents and 20 rolls of customers wraped dimes, in the dimes I found a 1 mexican 10 cent, 1 bolivian ten cent and 2 1964 dimes. In the cents I found $4.50 in copper 1 Caniadain, 12 wheat backs with the oldest being a 1928s in good curclated condition. Over all I thought a good day.

Oh what a difference a day makes!
    Box #1 of Halves: 3-40%
    Box #2 of Halves: 3-40%
    And then......

    THE MONSTER BOX!

    Box #3 of Halves: 2-40%, 40-90% (14-Walkers, 14-Benjamins, 12-1964) AND 3-Kenders AND 2-Benders AND 3-Wenders AND 1 DOUBLE WENDER!

I haven't even opened any of the enders yet but already 50-90% coins out of one box!
For me, a record to be sure on number of finds and finally got my Trifecta (12 times over!)!!!
    image.jpg
    And my first picture!
I know that this was somebody's collection and it sucks to be him, so I'm going to go through the rest of the box again and itemize all the years. Maybe someone can point me to the coins I should be looking at for possible errors.
    Box #4 of Halves: 3-40%, 1-90%

I've always heard that Enders sell for a premium on Ebay. If that's true, then I should keep them unopened, right?

Holy Toledo BC! What a haul! Worth the price of admission, for sure. Somewhere, a collector is wondering where his entire box of rare and silver halves is... and his wife has a new pair of $500 shoes...

Possibly. But I'm thinking her shoes only cost $26.

Pop those Enders open. I wouldn't ever sell an Ender on ebay unless it came from a box that only had a few silvers in it. However, this box has so much silver that you will be sure to lose money in the deal. Open them up and enjoy your coins!

You certainly have convinced me. I'll check them this evening. I mean, what was I thinking? Nobody would pay me a premium equivalent to 2-90% halves if they only see one, right? And I was seeing plenty of rolls with 4-90% each.
I really need to compile a complete list of dates and check if that collection had anything other than silver.

Holy Cow! How the heck am I supposed to be excited about finding a '64-D washer in the reject slot when I cashed in my nickels and dimes this morning when I see all those silver halves of BC's?

Awesome box BC!!! It's been a while since someone has posted a great box find like that....it's well deserved!! You've been doing some big volume each month...it was only a matter of time. Congrats
