I don't have any customers who are roll searchers, so I don't ruin anyone's fun. We only order coin boxes maybe once every few weeks, and don't have any businesses who request large amounts of rolls, just a few here or there. I have personally ordered boxes of halves just go through and then ship them back. Some may not like what I do, but it has caused no problems in the 12 months I have been doing this. I don't search BWR quarters since they are usually duds, and only sometimes search BWR dimes since that is not really worth the effort for maybe one dime a box at most. I like the nickels and pennies best.

You will see a lot of these, people mark some of their searched coins in an attempt to track them. I never really understood this... for example if I were marking a dozen coins from each box I search and 6 months down the road I find one of my marks, I'm still going to search the rest of the box!

    let's agree...no more marking coins

I agree. Even if they can be cleaned, marking coins is bad etiquette. First of all, it ruins the fun for the next person. Second, no one knows what people in the future may value. Maybe you are unknowingly marking a rare error coin. Also, it rarely helps the marker...usually someone else gets the coins. And if the coins do come back they are randomly mixed in with other coins.

Let's all respect each other and agree not to mark coins...and use the saved time to find more coins!

I mark halves only, and I use invisible ink that can only be seen with a UV light.
