Anyone see Doomsday Preppers tonight? I don't really watch it ever, but a guy was talking about how he gets halves each week to pull silver. Thought it was pretty cool seeing how we all do it on here.

The downside though is that it gives thousands of viewers the idea to search which means more competition.

In my last box of halves I found a fortune out of a fortune cookie that had been rolled up with the coins. It said "trust your intuition. The universe is guiding your life.". I took this as a good omen.

    2 boxes of dimes - 1 roosie

Also pulled P & D Denali quarters from a single roll

  14. Pulled four brand new White Mountain quarters from Denver at the register yesterday! :D I also searched through two rolls of quarters and four of pennies. Filled three quarter holes and found two Canadian cents: 1958 and 1964. Nothing else of interest though.

...and what I said to my wife. However, it is a hobby which takes a bankroll, patience, and time. Sometimes...wait...many times (unless your Fade...nah you got volume so...) without any results. Basically it is a lot of work (hours spent) without very much pay out. Anyways, I found the link if it was not posted yet...

I see many people being intrigued by seeing that but you're right, a large bankroll is needed to produce a respectable amount of silver to make it worth it. Plus I see someone from seeing the show buying a box and getting skunked right away and saying "screw this, it must be a set up on reality TV."

On Pawn Stars, Monday night, the dudes found the Old Man had 5 gallon buckets full of 'pre 1982 copper pennies', hidden all throughout the store. They talked about it more than once(although, when I paused the DVR, there were some nice, shiny shield pennies on top). I had the same thought as you all did about the halves.

I don't like it, not because I hoard copper(I don't) but because I don't want people flooding banks to snatch up pennies, thereby making it harder for me to attain/dump boxes.

I went to a bank today to dump some coin and the teller handed me more coins as in exchange, but also $50 cash so confused thinking I knew exactly what I brought for coins and shouldn't have been given $50 cash I went back in and told her. She was so sure that she counted the right amount but I told her I didn't think so and gave her the cash. She took my account info and said if it is over when she balances that she will deposit it into my account.

I know what I brought and got back the same amount in new coins, but it did not feel right walking out with the extra cash, but I did my good deed so maybe I will be rewarded if she over balances.
