Nickels are by far the most fun to me. I try to go thru at least one to two boxes per nite. They are fairly consistent also. I average 1-2 Wars per box. Looks like Im getting a buff about every 7-8 boxes. Finding some of the old pre-60s are fun too.

Dimes have been rough for me. I only look for silver in those and so far I've only found 3 silvers. 1 Merc and 2 Roosies.

Halves are tough also but I would pick up any CWR you can find

Tabor - Where are you located? I've been through $720 in nickels this month and so far $600 have been all 2012-P. I'm wondering if they are coming from the same supplier or what. I'm in MD. Starting to get frustrated on the nickels, just as I was getting into a good groove.

It's because he/she knew you did not have one of the dog bones from the drive-thru window with you when you came back. Come on, your searching with your dog you got to get them a milkbone or something! ha ha ha

Actually I searched the cents later in the morning and found the following:

1909 no S and no VDB but still a nice VG coin
    1930
    1940
    and 14 more wheaters.

So I had to take the obligatory box of sweets to the teller, and shared the picture and the story and got chewed out for not bringing doggy into the bank! But at least I did leave with a bag of goodies for her. I have a couple of branches where they are a bit more relaxed with people bringing dogs etc in, they are one of them.

Wish me luck, Folks! If you will! Ha.. Bought my first box, ever, of coins today.. Chose to get a box of quarters, and to my surprise, I thought a BOX was $250... But, at my bank, at least, a Box of Quarters comes in $500.. I had $200 in Half Dollars I was turning in, and the other $50 in my wallet... Seeing as how I have an account there, I just asked the teller to take the other $300 out of my checking account.. Can't wait to search and see what I can find...

Six boxes today, 2 40%ers, and one oddball box that gave up 11 BU '64's. Weird, where are the rest of those boxes?!

    2 boxes of halves today
    box 1- 2 x 40%ers
    box 2- skunk
asked for them to order again for next week and they said come on Thursday and not to bring the rejects back. These banks are so funny. They must have clowns ordering and returning back to them. I assured them they would never see the coins and my kids would be happy. My daughter helped me roll some rejects for dumping at that WF that still has not ordered for me.

Finally a slight turn after being burned by that almost solid 2001 Brinks half box. I was leery about picking up the second one and getting the same exact stuff.

    box 1 halves - '81S, '95S clad proofs
    box 2 halves - 40% (x2)

oh earlier in the week, I had a reject pop up from my own dime dumpage. My first completely blank planchet. Neato, daddio. I'll hang onto it.

Finished my 2 boxes of cents: 26 wheats including a 1910, 1920, 37s, & 39, the rest were the typical 40's and 50's. There were only 5 canadian between the 2 boxes but in the second box I got 4 panamanian cents from 1979 to 1986. I've only found one previously. Strange to get 4 in one box. Also 41 "09" which is a lot for me and only 5 "S" mint. All in all they were different than the usual boxes and WAAAYY better than the 2 boxes of solid 2012-P from last week :)

Oh, speaking of wheats, I was dumping out some CWR of cents I had found at a branch (About $40 worth) into a bag to be sorted later, and there was a solid roll of common, later-date wheats in there. Thought that was cool.

Nice. The first rolls I ever got back in September I got two solid rolls of wheats with some nice teens and twenties and a few steels. Hasn't happened since and since I don't get CWR it prolly won't. Def got me hooked though!

Checked out a few banks today. Only found 5 forty percenters. Half an hour before closing I got this roll:

    IMG_20130125_214658.jpg

I was hoping for the best because I recognize that roll as from the 80's and earlier. It looked even more promising when I saw the hand written note:

    IMG_20130125_214712.jpg

I was excited but knew it couldn't be. Still, one can dream! So I opened it up. And saw this:

    IMG_20130125_214817.jpg

Twenty gleaming white au/bu silver discs all dated 1964! Seven point two ounces in my hand. The best part? There was a second identical roll!

    IMG_20130125_214831.jpg

40 1964's! 14.4 ounces! Tonight I am going to make a special offering of sweet fruits to the coin Gods for looking favorably down on me...
