I just went thru a box of pennies and found a 1919,1942,1944S,& 1928. I also found some coin that was slightly off center and some die cracks. Along with that there was 4 rolls of brand new 2012 MS. I don't know if I should be happy or sad about the 2012's. After all they're only 2012, however the red book have MS65 price at 0.30. What are your thoughts?

The box ended up churning out a very solid 3 Roosies. Giddy up, December has been turning out well even with the limited amount I've been able to search.

My goal for the year was to pull 500 silver coins, I'm at 483 thus far so I do have a good chance at hitting my goal. My other goal was to cull 100 oz of silver but I will fall short of that unless I run into a CWR score of halves. My totals so far are 125 dimes and the rest is primarily Halves. I've searched about triple the amount this year of what I make in salary.
I've had some great months and then months like last where I barely pulled an OZ of silver. It will be nice to see everyones year end results. This is alot more fun than a PT job. What a great hobby.

Good luck on meeting your goal and I gotta completely agree that this is a great hobby.

BTW...I have the same problems on my phone.

Dropped off a box of halves at my BoA. They take them loosely rolled in the original wrapper and then just unroll quick right into the coinlok bag and give me immediate credit. It was great, I roll up to the teller and she pulls out the bag and starts filling it out, give me my credit, asks me about the kids as shes dumping the coins in. I'm told I'm the only one they do this for, normally they need to send out the bag to verify. Sweet gig I have going there and I only do one box a week so they don't get burnt out.

Picked up $250 in dimes, 8 of the rolls were CWR, I opened those quickly and got a Roosie already.

Also, I went to throw my box of dimes with the wrappers all stuffed in it in the recycle bin this morning and it felt "too heavy". There was an unopened roll of dimes in there. Maybe it has silver in there!

Was just thinking that I find it funny that my change jar is stripped of all usefull silver and copper coins. They are just plain clad cents worth nothing but their face value and pretty much no numanistic value either. Just thought you all may feel the same when it comes to your extra change laying around that you either hadn't dumped yet or are saving just at face. Just boring clad coins. :)

I searched a whopping total of 4 half dollar rolls and found one decent 67. Must be beginner's luck.

Should I try to clean the obverse?

I also got somebody's metal detector find...

Like the toning on that one?

Decided when I walked by a coin star today that I heard of people finding silver in the reject bin, well to my luck there was nothing but a single dime, a 1964 silver dime that is!

I am looking for opinions on what to invest in with some 40% halves that I know a guy who will pay spot for them this Friday. I don't have the time to search the volume some of you do on here (wish I did) but I am selling him 39 40% for spot. I collect silver but I want at least one gold coin for my collection. So my question is should I just take my $180+ from the halves and buy a 1/10 AGE or just turn it around a buy 90% silver where my LCS will sell to me for spot.

    Thanks in advance.

    1) Point me in the direction of the guy that buys 40% at spot! Nice!

    2) I'd look at picking up something like a half sovereign or old pesos with ~$200 to spend on gold. Lower premiums than an AGE!
