    Weekly results:

Quarters ($380 searched): Wash x1, RUST Kansas quarter
    Dimes ($1430 searched): Roosie x16, 50% Canadian dime x1, 1991S Proof
Nickels ($254 searched): War Nickel x43, 1985S Proof
    Pennies ($24 searched): Wheat x18
    Halves ($519 searched): 40% x1

Total silver found was 3.9439 ozt, my best week in a while. Had some nice luck with Roosies, and lucked out with that solid war nickel roll, so it made up for the fact that I couldn't get my hands on any of my normal half dollar orders. Hopefully my luck holds til the end of the year.

    And foreign finds: 71c Canada, 2p UK, 10p Dominican Republic, 11c Barbados, 1c Jamaica, 1c Australia, 25c Panama, 20r Switzerland, 1d Morocco, 200L Italy, 1c Trinidad

    $25 BWR cents: 8 wheat, '56 Canadian, 677 keepers.
    $25 CWR cents: 3 wheat (including a '37-P), 568 keepers.

It seems that I'm alone in thinking this, but, at least for pennies, BWR is where it's at.

Hello All. Complete newbie here. My first experience with coin roll hunting has been quite *interesting* so I thought I'd share.

On a whim while I was cashing in some quarter/nickel/dime rolls, I decided to ask my local bank about any half dollars they might have. The teller produced a single roll of Halves in the same kind of sleeve that I wrap all my coins in (with the folded up/mashed ends - if there is a proper name for these, please let me know). Knowing full well that it had to be picked through, I said "why not". I got the the car and gave a quick look at the edges and saw no silver. Oh well, some people go through boxes and don't get any so maybe this isn't so bad.

The following day, I went to a different bank and asked the same question. Turns out the teller is a coin collector and he ordered a box of Halves for some customers who only wanted a few rolls. He produced ~$460 worth of bank rolls (yellow wrapper). I opted to get two rolls, to double my chances, right?!? I saw that the end coin on one of the rolls he gave me was definitely silver so I got really excited. Once I left the building, I saw the end coin was a 1965 - SCORE! I went through the rest of that roll and the other one but found no more silver.

I got home and started sorting out all the coins from the three rolls just to see the year distribution and to see which I would be most easily willing to trade back in for cash. I got around to looking at the mint location and came across a 1992 Half that was quite dirty-looking. It had a 'S' mint mark. Being that it was the only 'S' in the bunch, I Googled it and came to realize that it was a proof coin. Once I saw that these coins were also minted in 90% silver, I immediately thought this "dirt" was tarnish. Sure enough, I used the baking soda+hot water+aluminum foil cleaning trick and it got the tarnish off. So, in three rolls, I scored a 90% and a 40%. Probably just beginner's luck.

By the way, the 1992 coin came from the first roll that I picked up that was almost certainly checked over. The tarnish on the edges made it look like the rest! Anyway, just thought I would share, in case all you do is look at the edges. Here are a few picks of the very lucky finds.
