Dropped the days' haul in my SDB and went to dump at the CU (They're open til 7 on Thursdays and Fridays, awesome CU) and we had talked about possibly ordering halves there before. Well, the head teller took some initiative and ordered me two boxes. Since I scored so much silver out of my 2 boxes earlier, I didn't have cash on hand to make up the difference. Took one, will grab the other on my lunch tomorrow.


EDIT: First box gave me a '64 and 2 proofs. One more tomorrow and my pickups for the week are done.

 

Two boxes of halves: One 40%
$30 CWR halves: Nothing
$23 loose halves: One 40%

 

Unfortunately its a clad, but I have the 40% silver proof so I got to add it to my collection!

 

Got a 1945 wheatie back in change from the gas station. Also aquired a 1926 Peace Dollar. It had belonged to my late Uncle. My cousin sold it to me so that way it would stay with the family.

 

I have no clue!

I searched another $1,000 bag of those dimes today and dumped it afterwards. got 2 mercs and 9 rosies!! The total (including a mutilated quarter and two mutilated nickels) was $1,006.45. These bags would be worth it even if they didn't have silver in them... I think what's happening is when the teller opens up the machine, they just throw some loose coins randomly in the bags if there are any inside the machine somewhere. Beats me, but I'm okay with free cash

Two boxes of halves = dozen NIFCs, gold plated 1986, a burned 1976 proof and a 1969!:yes:Finally a tiny bit of silver.

 

I have been Coin Roll Searching for about a month averaging one box of BWR halves a week. Monday, I surprised my tellers with a nice loaf of homemade chocolate chip bread to thank them for their efforts. They were so ecstatic.

However, today, when I went to pick up another box of halves, I was notified that I have been limited to ordering one box per month. I guess they didn't like my bread. I was tempted to close my account (only $5) in disgust but I have decided that this will now become a Dump Bank for me.

I'll need to find another bank that will order boxes of halves for me. Oh well. I haven't searched this last box of halves yet but hopefully it will be as good as my last one (16 silvers!). I'll update tonight.

 

Rinse, and repeat - $500 bag of dimes, skunk.

 

Bad news, see if you can get a box of halves, you might get lucky. Keep plugging away. With the bad luck I've been having this week I'm expecting 8 boxes of skunk this weekend!

Nowhere local has boxes of halves, and I haven't found a bank that is willing to order - that's why I'm so heavy into the dimes. I do have one more $500 bag to pick up tonight/tomorrow morning, hopefully that turns my 0 from $1250 streak around!

 

ugh seeing some of these results are getting me down-Of course I don't have the "G" to through down on
2 boxes of halves otherwise I'd be doing that. I'm going to have to make some trips to some "off the beaten path" banks and hope I get lucky. Nice score Fade. Total jealousy right here...LOL.

 

If it makes you feel better, I just got skunked on my last half box of the week.
