    $30 BWR nickels - nothing special but an interesting coincidence I got these three - 46-D, 47-D & 48-D.

What I am referring to with that is that searching massive amounts of coins every week and hoarding them in big drums, etc. takes a lot of time so if they had a real job they wouldn't have so much time to do such a thing. Instead, they are just locking up perfectly good coins which could be better used for commerce and circulation instead of just hoarding them to be smelted. Such massive hoarding helps to contribute to the government having to mint billions of pennies every year which is paid for by taxpayers so we are all impacted by such a dubious activity in one way or another.

What these coin hoarders are doing is a miniscule drop in the bucket compared to what this government/politicians are allowing the Federal Reserve/Treasury
to do every year printing up bogus paper money supposedly worth billions/trillions of debt to the American taxpayer but were not to discuss politics I understand, so I'll drop it there and move on to the really important stuff. [IMG]

    $120 in dimes
    1 1964 roosevelt

    $5 in pennies
    1958-D, 1953-D wheaties

    $20 in nickels
    2 1958-D's, 2 1955-D's, 1956-D, 1953-D, 1952-P,1940-D

With that 1953-D nickel that makes 1 roll of them, I know big deal. [IMG]

Not sure what to do but im either going to get a $100 box of nickels or $100 of pennies today. Help?

Note- i search for varieties and errors mainly.

If you're mostly going for errors and varieties I recommend the $100 in pennies. A box of nickels would be better suited to look for War nickels, better date nickels from the 1940s or 1950s or of course, Buffalo nickels.

Getting ready to go to the bank and pick-up my Wednesday box of halves. It's someone dump box, so I get this feeling that the finds are not going to be as special as Fridays box.:rollling:

I see my posts pointing out NOS's idiocy and hypocrisy were deleted while his insult was allowed to stick around. I'm taking some time off from this website, that's just ridiculous.

By the way, one of my deleted posts actually had some results in it... 2 boxes, 1 40% ender, dirty filthy ugly ender.

Nice find on the 1950D! There are people on this forum who have searched nickels for years and years without ever finding one. I've found three 1950P nickels but never a 1950D so I think you did fairly well today. :thumb:

a bit of show and tell today. started off with a box of dimes - '64 CDN.

dumped those at the CU. As I'm waiting to collect my bills, I notice the teller at the drive thru window has what appears to be halves in her tray. $8 dollars worth.

16solid64s.jpg (sorry, dunno why it's rotated...) KABLAMMO! All '64's! :D

Good thing that happened, since this is what I found in my SEALED box of halves.

markedhalves.jpg I'd really like to punch this fool in the face. Also the folks that rewrap and seal and ship out as if it's a brand new box. <sigh> Win some, lose some! :rollling:

I went in to a bank today and asked for $25 in pennies. They went to the vault, then came back and told me they could only give me $10 in pennies. I bought the ten in pennies, and the teller said that if I wanted large quantities of coins, I could have them order me some boxes. I thought this was very generous of them, considering I don't have an account there, and I've never been there before. There supplier is Loomis. I will order a box next week. What denomination do guys have the best luck with Loomis boxes? All I have been searching so far are cwr and brinks boxes.

This was my first bow of pennies i've looked thru. I bought a bow from pnc and they were all boring 2012 unc. i kept a few rolls and filled in the box with other pennies i had and traded it for another box. they were also all 2012 so i traded that box back in for cash, dissapointed i left and went to a store(near a bank). while my mom walked in the store i walked over to the bank and bought a box and opened it to find older pennies! When i got home i searched them and found-
    17 wheaties(15, 35x2, 42, 44, 49, 51, 52x2, 53, 55x2, 56x3, and 57x2) (im kinda new to hunting so i dont know all of the terms but one of the 57s had a flattened and fattened 5)
    13 canadians (64x2, 67(with a dove on reverse), 70, 80x2, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88(with pig on reverse), 2001, and 2002)
1 1976 penny with huge die crack on reverse
    1959 memorial cent x4
