box of dimes - the only silver in there, so worn that I can't make out the last digit in the date.

Even if the roll was complete the weight would have been off likely prompting your girls to count the coins, anyway. The silver and Canadian quarters would have given a completely different weight than what your standard roll of solid clad quarters would have given.

    Looks like a 1928, possibly a 1923.

I had a dream that I got 20 40%ers in a box of halves. Then I woke up :( If only dreams did come true...

A box of nickels: two that were less than 50 million minted. Other than that, skunk.
$ 50 worth of dimes: skunk

Box of nickels yesterday. My huband found a 1936 buffalo and my son found his first war nickel. He even wrote on the 2x2 "my 1st war nickel." He was really jazzed about it.

I went through a box of nickels and had some good finds. They are:
    1944D
    1945D
    1967 Mint BU
    1974 Mint BU
    1984P Unc.
    1989D Unc.
    1994D Mint BU
    2003D Unc.

There was also a 1998 Canadian nickel. I wait for the day when I find the elusive 1943D nickel as it is the key to the War nickel series.

I'm missing 43D and 44S for my album as well, from war nickels :(

I actually just got my 3rd 1939S a few days ago, still no 39D. Other than that all I'm missing is 38D and 50D, good luck with that lol

$1000 in Halves came in 2 bags 500 each although were rolls and not loose or in boxes .The 1st bag was a skunk with many of the coins in the rolls having weird sludge or green paste on the coins was the worst looking kennedys i have ever looked through .. The 2nd bag i found 12 40% and 1 90% also a 1979 panama coin several proofs and dated 2004 and above although the strangest thing about this bag of rolls was there were about 15 rolls of brand new kennedys all the rolls like this had a mix of 1971 / 1976 and 1974D all perfect never circulated I dont have a jewerly loupe to check for double die although am ordering one today . thinking i might have found an amazing find as these were put together that way and all are perfect wondering why they would save the 71 though

Box of dimes, finally a merc, 1942! I haven't found one of those in a few months. A '64 also popped out!

    IMG_2755.jpg IMG_2754.jpg

Out of curiosity I did a little math:

    I find 1 roosie per $227.
    I find 1 merc per $4,380.
    I find 1 80% canadian per $2,555.
    I find 1 50% canadian per $7,665.

$100 of customer rolled dimes from local credit union.
Found a rough looking 1960D roosie and a 1977 canadian dime. At first, I couldn't read the date of the Roosie so I gave it a flip and it definitely was a silver sounding flip. Anybody else recognize that sound?

By the way, what year of canadian dimes are silver? (i know this one isn't silver...just wondering for future reference)
