Went in a bank today while I'm out of town and ask the teller for halves. She says to me, "I had some of those Benjamin Franklins, but I sold them." I just looked at her and said "Do you have any more?" She says no...and the only other halves were $890 worth of halves that had been unwrapped from bank rolls and rerolled on the same rolls...so close...

Today's results

$4 Pennies: 63 copper, 1946D, 1955P, a dime in one of the rolls.
$10 Nickles: 1954D, 1956P.
$20 Dimes: Skunk.
$360 Quarters: One Panama coin, a bridge on it instead of the guy. I never got one of those before. Some sort of commemorative or something. I guess we can allow other countries to do that sort of thing too.

 

$12 loose halves - skunk

 

Two boxes of halves: Nothing. Boxes have been awful lately.
$10 BWR dimes: One silver Roosie
$140 CWR dimes: One silver Roosie
One Ike: Nothing to write home about.

 

Back to reality. 5 cwr of halves... nothing. 10 bwr of nickels... 3 pre 60.

2) Box of nickels = 1919 buffalo, 1916 buffalo, 8 dateless buffalo's, twenty 39-59 Jefferson's, and one 1945-P war nickel.
3) Box of dimes = skunk

A box of nickels: no wars but I got a 1939 D. Second lowest mint, behind the 50 D, for circulation.

 

Went to drop off $440 is halves at the coin counter at my bank and there was a 1867 2cent piece sitting on the counter. Along with a 5cent Korean piece. Its worn down so someone probably couldn't tell what it was.

Then went to another bank to deposit some money and noticed a silver edge in the tellers half dollar tray. I asked if ican have them, he said there wasn't any silver, but I could tell at least 1 was. So I bought $9 worth so he didn't think I knew something was up. Sure enough a 1966 Kennedy in the mix. The rest were junk.

I'd say a good day since I actively wasn't hunting anything.

 

Found my first fake 1943 copper penny =) It was copper plated.

 

road trip this weekend. One bank netted 4 40% 190% 1 proof, 2 silver proof, and 1 statue of liberty comemorative.

$70 Quarters: Skunk. Odd thing. A roll of the Vicksburg ATB quarters, D, which I have. 39 of them, as one of them was not a Vicksburg, but a Colorado State quarter. I suppose someone got the roll, needed the Vicksburg, took one out. At least they were honest enough to stick another quarter in there to replace the one they took out.

I 'dumped' 25 President dollar coins in a roll to get gas. I don't drive much, so the other 8 rolls will last a while. And I got rid of some half dollars at McDonalds for lunch. But I don't eat lunch out every day, so that will take a while too.
