15 in dimes - skunk

 

On Saturday just before my big score, I stopped at another bank that had $180 in halves in their vault which they said they'd take out for me for the following saturday. I realized this was probably a dumb idea, considering someone else could come along and pick them up between now and then, even though I've had really bad luck with finding people's dumps from banks in the area. So I called them this morning and asked them to take them out of the vault today so I could come pick them up.

Another 18x 40% and 2x 90%! July is off to a crazy start. I've got a lead on another bunch of halves from one of my regular banks, and I'm about to try and contact the bank that sold me the 5 solid silver rolls to see if the customer sold them any quarters/dimes (although they're probably gone at this point).

Recap of Friday - Today at lunch
Not any killer scores like Atreides or Bobbeth, but not alot of skunks either. I'm hoping to do a little road trippin' and run into a score like that here in the very near future....just crazy amounts of silver you two pulled. I'd be high on that score for a week!

Friday - Got out of work a little early so I could dump $450 in dimes and pick up 2 boxes. Didn't even have to change the bags at TD...SWEET!
Box 1 - 2 x Roosie

Sat morning after dumping $1000 in dimes
Box 3 - 2 x Roosie
Box 4 - Skunk

Box 5 - 2 x Roosie (1 in the 49th roll)

 

I went to my local bank today and got 4 rolls of pennies went home and opened the first one solid 1943 war pennies!!!!!!! Then I opened the next one solid wheat pennies and two war. The next one was like that too. The last one had solid wheat and one war. This has to be my lucky day.

 

Wow! They were customer wrapped? I would go back and see if that customer dumped off any other rolls. Quarters, dimes, half dollars, etc.

 

I would, but I don't have that kind of money. I only 13.

 

Bummer.

 

I stopped by that shop again today to see if she had any other coins brought in for melt, and all she had was the dimes left from the week before. So I asked how much for the 12 of them and she quoted me $24 which is more than melt right now. So last week 2 WL's for about 65% of melt...this week 12 dimes for 102% of melt. I didn't take them of course. Maybe her arithmetic was slightly off last week and that was my one lucky shot. I will try again when she has more halves or dollars next time just for the heck of it.

Other than that...today's dimes=skunk, quarters=skunk, a few rolls of pennies=1 Wheat.

Oh what a day :-/

Those are great halves/nickel boxes, congrats. It's been a long time since Ive gotten more than 2 war nickels in a box

4 rolls of halves, nothing. One box of cents: 4 canadian, 4 wheats, and a 1998 WAM my first.

 

I've seen alot of good score from down in Florida. I would suggest ordering some boxes if you can, I think it would be worth your while if the wifey does not mind (not sure if that applies).
