I had something happen to me today that was the first. Stopped at a bank to ask for halves and large dollars. Been there a couple of times before and done the same thing. After she asked around if anyone had halves or large dollars, she asked me how many I wanted. Then asked me if I had an account. I told her no, and she said she couldn't do the exchange. I gues she wanted to sit on them.

I'm finding a bunch of 2000 and 2001. In circulated condition are those worth even pulling?

I get that from one branch only of a small bank of 5 branches total. They must not do a ton in coin and they refuse to sell or exchange coin for me. The branch in the next town over gave me my biggest score ever.

I hoping that will happen with me. I been to their other branches and never had a problem. Even one of the tellers keeps an eye out for coins for me. I'll hit the other branches across the river, hopefully will get a score.

Just bought a box of cents. I'll go through it and post results momentarily. I wanted to buy $75 in pennies, but the guy who supposedly orders the coins told me I could only have one and he charged me $30 for the box. He said I could call and he'll place my order in the future but at $5 per box fee, so I'll have to think about it...

Just found this in some of the BWRs of dimes I picked up today...

It's hard to see because of the bad pics and the horrible condition of the coin, but that's a 1907 Barber Dime. It's my 2nd Barber of the year, and I almost missed this one too because it's so skanky and the edge makes it look like a dirty clad.

Considering how bad it looks and how damaged it is, I'm considering just cleaning it. Any ideas how?

Also got an almost-as-skanky 1909 Wheat today, the oldest I've found so far. Sadly, not a VDB :(

I'm having a pretty nice week. Full results on Saturday!

I bought a roll of wheats for 3.00 and found a 1915d, and a couple of teens, twenties, and thirties. Also two steel cents. Also, I got 53 instead of 50!

sped through my box of cents. Despite the commotion that I went through to get it, it yielded a 1911, 2x 55-D, 2x 49-D, 2x 57-D, 46-D, 58-D plus about 10 canadian pennies.

Not bad, but I dont think I will be buying boxes or rolls from them anymore if they're going to charge me for no reason.

    Today's haul:

    $2 pennies: 34 copper.
Didn't get any nickles or dimes, but did get a 53S nickle in change.
$210 Quarters: 5 extra, a Malaysia coin, and finally one hole filler, a Montana P ATB

Although I have accounts at only two banks, they have a lot of branches. Since they are joint accounts, all I have to say they are at the other branch because it's easier for the 'old lady'. So I have a few branches I usually go to to get rolls. They rarely seem to have half dollars though, and few dollars, no Ikes.

And the stupid Mint isn't circulating the dollars anymore, which makes finding President Arthur and after very unlikely.
Just wonder what'll happen when it comes time for Clinton, Dubya and Obama's coins, they'll most likely still be alive when theirs comes out. Maybe even Carter and Bush #1...

I dont think they can mint coins with presidents that are currently alive due to some act that I read about somewhere.... Specific I know, but I do remember reading that somewhere so we probably wont see recent presidents yet.

Today was a better dime day, but not awesome. $400 bag of dimes gave up a single '64 roosie, and a box gave up a '64 and '60.

Yes, my 50D was from the box of dimes.....not the nickel.

I picked up another box of dimes - Skunk

Then, I went to another bank and picked up 20 Ikes and 10 CWR of half dollars:

    From left to right 22 1965 (most in MS), 15 1966, 22 1967, 21 1968, 13 1969, and 2 1970 D :D 95 total, including the two rare 1970-D's :D

The partial one is a great looking 1971-S cameo.

Best find in a LONG time

With this find, I passed 2000 40%ers found and am nearing another significant milestone....hopefully I'll hit it soon.

Oh, and for my 50th birthday, I went skydiving for the first time today with my best friend. Yep, I had a great day!
