Merc, that 1942 Walker looks to be in pretty decent shape for being in circulation! Very cool! I am thinking XF-ish? Pic is kind of fuzzy.

    Soooo

Normally I don't find much of anything in the rolls I pick up Sunday, but today I found this:

That leaves just 5 left for my Jefferson album: 38D, 39D, 50D, 43D and 44S

I went through 15 BWR of pennies today. I found a worn 1916D and a 1933. I still have half of the box to finish. I wonder what else will be in there?

2 boxes of dimes: 1 merc and 3 rosies.

Also as a graduaion gift my grandma gave me a box of coins :) It had a 1993 ASE, 5 silver quarters, 20 wheat pennies, 6 indian head cents, an uncirculated steel cent PDS set, a 2 dollar star note, a railroad flattened cent, and a small handfull of foreign coins. That was probably the coolest gift I ever got :D!

Let me give a little recap of Fri/Sat

Started out very nicel with 5 Roosies from a box I posted that pic of. Then it was down hill from there. I searched $1150 for dimes for 1 Roosie and 1 Merc. Boy I really thought I was going to be off to a good start for the month.

Box of dimes gave up a '65 80% canadian, a '68 50% canadian, and a '90 five pence. I've never had multiple foreign silver come from a box before!

    Jackpot!

It's been a LONG time since I searched a roll of dimes. Went to the bank today and picked up 10 to sort through. 3 rolls in and JACKPOT! A 1941 Mercury, and a 1963 and 1964 Rossie that appear to be proofs!!

I was beside myself. I never have sent a coin in to be graded, but I think the Roosie Proofs are going to be my first. Any advice on how I go about this?

    RollSearch 6 5 2012.JPG

Nothing showed up in the remaining 7 rolls, but I do feel that finding these 3 dimes in one roll is indicative of someone dumping a collection.

It's off to the bank for more dimes!!

Picked up a box of halves today and when the first 4 rolls had at least one coin with a black dot on the face, I pretty much knew I was wasting time. Skunk. Same with a box of nickels last night.

Good news-I received a call from a local bank for a job interview as a teller. Not exactly what I want to do with my college degree, but I figure I can score some good stuff this way while I work on finding a better job.

I thought I was the only one doing this, guess not so. Today's batch yielded just one wheat penny, a few coppers.

Did have extraordinary luck one time. I went to the bank to buy rolls, the line was long. The guy in front of me had a box, looked heavy. Figuring on saving us both some time, I asked, it was rolls of coins, I got them. He said they were his grandmothers, shehad a jar of coins for years, was moving, etc. He didn't want to use the machine as they always charge 10%.

Although no rare dates, pennies all wheat a dozen War.
Nickles were mostly old, a third or so War, a few buffalo.
    Dimes all silver, one merc.
Quarters all silver, two Liberty standing.

$199.75 in face value worth of good stuff. One quarter roll was one coin short, the cheat.
