Lol :) Yay I'm proud of myself for being right. If only I could take my finals this week on US Coins instead of Java, Cryptography and Network Security...

The cost of melting and separating out the gold is more than the tiny amount of gold is worth. Plated coins, whether with silver or gold, are a gimmick. Once the gold or silver is on the coins, in practice, it's worthless.

Ugh, working on some CWR dimes and six of the rolls are filled with pennies with a dime on each end. Brought them back but the manager was on lunch so we'll see how it goes.

Box of dimes: current Canadian, UK 5 pence, 51D and 64D roosies. The dimes watchers are showing me a lil love this week. I'll take it!

I was in a library today when I heard someone say that her quarters didn't work in the vending machine. I heard the distinct sound of silver hitting a surface, so I went over to the woman and offered two clad quarters for her two coins. It turns out they were 1939 and 1940 Washingtons, and they are still in at least VF condition.

Went to dump some dimes today. I was able to get $1.20 in Canadian from the magnet along with some other assorted foreign coins. I wish I had been doing this all along. I added the Canadian to my lot of coins I'm selling on eBay every little bit will help.

$225 CWR dimes: 1 silver Roosie, two Canadians, a 69 penny, and $3.20 extra! About 15 of the rolls were full of late 70's coins in almost uncirculated condition.
$245 BWR: 2 silver Roosies and one Canadian

I have had REALLY bad luck lately. Only thing of note is a Bicentennial clad proof. Bleh. I really think the halves have tried up in my area. My last halves I found were two 1967's in $14 loose and that was MONTHS ago.

edit: The Bicentennial clad proof was a quarter, not a half. Sorry for any confusion.

$860 CWR halves: one 40% with a searcher's sharpie mark on it, LOL. Serves them right for vandalizing coins. :)
