    I continued with my box of pennies today...went through 5 rolls...got 1 2009-P log cabin, and 2 wheats (1957 and 1937).

Also went through 5 rolls of dimes..NADA!

Speaking for myself, I ask my local Wells Fargo branch to order me a box of Half dollars. A box is $500 dollars worth Half Dollars. They usually come with the banks weekly money order. I talk to the customer service managers, I have found them easier to deal with than the branch manager, when it comes to ordering coins.

It varies in cost to order the boxes of coins from free to $14 per box is what I have found at the various wells fargo branches I had talked with in Houston.

Not sure about the other coins, as I have yet to get anything but the Half dollars.

I know there are others here with more time doing this, that could add to this.

    Finally!

I got my bank to order not just one but 4 boxes of halves for me! And the best part is... I don't have to pay extra!

Oh and I almost forgot I found 10 wheats today including a 1919. Also 2 star notes and a 1963 B one dollar note.

I have not tried to buy a box of halves yet...my bank (Chase) seemed reluctant about halves when I asked couple of months ago....I want to try again though, probably next week! I'm currently into boxes of pennies...affordable ($25 a box) and fun to search for wheaties, etc.

Just a curious question, how much does a box of halves weigh? The thing is that my bank is literally a minute away from my building...so I have to carry the box home and climb 2 floors of stairs with it (driving is not an option..and there is no elevator)...and I'm a female (strong but not a weight lifter..LOL!). I just want to do my homework before I try ordering a box of halves...it would be very embarrassing not being able to carry it out of the bank :D

I can imagine it will be very heavy....but just want to get more details...if someone can post a picture, it would be the best estimate! :D

Almost forgot to mention...went through 5 more rolls of pennies...1 more log cabin-P and 2 wheats (1956-D and 1958-D).

I didn't know log cabins were this easy to find!!

Thanks, halpeters. As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words...at least it will give me an idea of how big the box is! And may be someone else might be able to post the weight...I wanna try my best to get a box of halves...

btw, what are the chances of finding anything other than kennedy halves?

it seems like out of almost every $25 box of pennies I get, there seems to be at least one canadian cent and maybe 3-5 wheat pennies at most per box at most. I haven't gotten any boxes of nickels or dimes at this point, but I plan on getting a box of nickels the next time I go to the bank to see if I can find any war nickels or better yet, a 2009 nickel, which, based on the mintage stats I've seen, it seems like I'd be more likely to find a war nickel than a 2009 nickel from roll searching.

Thanks, halpeters. It looks almost the size of a box of pennies! I'm sure this one weighs a lot though...

How would you like to go to the bank and get rolls with 90% wheat cents a few Indian Heads now and then, Buffalo and Silver nickels, Mercury dimes and all silver Roosies, SLQ's and again ALL silver Washingtons, and Walking Liberty and Franklin Half Dollars (No Kennedys)...thats the way it was in 1963, before coin collecting went to Hell with the...."CLAD COINS".
