The cent was actually found by a friend and I made a trade for it, so I don't know if that counts, oldest I've found personally was a 1910 in pocket change. Nickel was in pocket change believe it or not, finding that v nickel was actually what got me into collecting
Ya it was a lucky find, hopefully not a once in a lifetime find though. When I first stumbled across it I thought it was foreign being that I wasn't a collector at that point. Fortunately I took a closer look.
I know I've already posted my oldest finds.... but I've been having fun making collages lately, so here they all are
Nice find! Those are my oldest circ/crh finds, I've yet to find an IHC in a roll, I always manage to convince myself that the next roll is the one... Hopefully one of these days it actually will be
As "the Great one" said... "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Keep trying - eventually you're going to run into one. I've found 2 (1889, 1905) in my 6 months of hunting this year...
Always cool to have that happen... earlier in the week, I found a Buffalo and a War Nickel in the very first roll I searched that day!
I my self have found 4 in a fed roll and have had multiple full customer wrapped rolls full of them. I even have had rolls with three buffalo nickels 2 v nickels plus a buffalo! I have had many double rolls!
Pictures to come later but I had my best box of cents! I found a 1919 (my oldest find to date), a AU/UNC 1955D, and an off-center 1999D
