Roll searching days are done it died off years ago your getting slim silver pickings regardless i find pennies quite interesting, quite a few wheaties including several planchet errors and one gorgeous Indian I can't stop looking at.
I started out with Lincoln Memorials because I like them and they are very affordable. If you do find a DDO or DDR you will be hooked for sure. Iwas very fortunate and found: Six 1998 Wide A M 's Eleven 2000 Wide a m'S Two 1999 Wide A M's( One is a MS65, Red) One 1994 165* CCW Rotated Die( MS61) All this in about two years. I have fun filling Whitman and Harris folders for wheat cents as well as LMC's in AU or BU condition. So have fun. Don't forget coins are recyclable. zeke
I look at it like this Search through rolls is a hobby, its something you do to kill time, relax, and hope one day youll find a real beauty. expect to get rich? never! but have fun doing something that you can pass on down to your children (my children are 4 and 2 and they sit here with a new roll everytime im ready to open it up, they are excited and know that one day we will start a collection for them, when they can read the dates correctly)
Don't expect to get rich, but it won't cost you anything either A number of us have made thousands of dollars (literally) roll searching, but I think that is the exception. Good luck.
"Worth It?" "Worth It?" Like fishing, it is only "Worth It" if you enjoy it. Plus~it's lower cost (You can still Spend what you choose to throw back) Can give your eyes/hands/mind something to focus on. Can be done rain or shine. (Though some choose to fish in the rain, too.) Does not require a license.
