Oh, I know Steve, maybe a touch of ADHD, just kidding but yeah. lol Oh yeah, now I know what convention that is. It's the one where Coin Community goes to every year.
I can only dream about going to a convention and meeting some of you guys there. Wouldn't even know where to start since I never had a real verbal conversation with anyone about ancient coins that didn't consist of blank looks, "Ok, that's nice", "Are those real?" then losing interest 2 minutes later. lol
=> ahaha, yah I kinda miss jbuck and his guessing-game, but that's about it ... I have no hard feelings (they run the DisneyLand of coin sites, and I realize that I'm more of a Hooters kind of guy!!) ... to each his own Cheers, CCF
Sorry all that had to happen but the nice thing about the internet is that there are half a dozen or more places you can post at. So, you can move on and land where you want which happens to be here. You're a cool guy Steve, never let it get you down. But yeah, it will get you no where to have hard feelings. I know from experience as I can hold a mean grudge that I learned to set aside as the years went by.
Steve a car drive from the snow to NY is only 12 hours non stop . Is CCF that bad? Haven't been to that site for years.
I never had a problem with the mods there but Steve and those guys went a few rounds and it ended up not being a enjoyable experience for anyone to put it politely.
I'm always broke around this time of year so its a no go for me once again. Its in the state I live in but its far enough away that I would have to pay also for a hotel stay. Not sure why they can't do it in Miami or something. Oh well it is what it is...
Hey folks, I’ve changed my plans for the NYINC. After hearing everyone’s justification for not attending I did some soul searching & decided to travel to Saint Johns USVI instead of New York. You folks simply gave me pause & I’ve changed my course. (1) Silly to travel north of the Mason Dixon during winter. (2) Money saved could be used to buy 1-2 high end coins. (2b) Money saved by not going to NYINC can be used to go to USVI (no duh) (3) One can always set a proxy bid at the Triton auction without going to NY (4) More sea turtles (with all appendages) are in USVI I think. Sorry that we won't meet at the show this year Ardatirion.
One day I will make it out to NYINC or another major show in the States. The nice thing is all of the big coin shows I would like to go to are places the gf would like to go at some time or another in the States.
Hey guys Its been a while since I have posted here, but have been checking in from time to time. Anyway, I have attended the NYINC show for the past couple of years. Will not be going this year because my wifes company is not going to board me for free. For the last couple of years I have really enjoyed the show! Last year I was able to hold a very nice EID MAR coin. Very cool) As far as buying, well...if you want high end then you will find lots of stuff and prices to match. If you are looking for middle of the road and low end then it is slimmer pickings. Having said that, my pocket book was lighter after going and would be again if i went. Saw thousands of cool coins. Lots of fun! Even got to meet ancient noob and acquired my Shapur I. Hey Noob, have a great show!
Just wondering did anyone on CT end up going to the show? The thread kind of died of and no one has said anything about the convention.
If they have, they haven't bothered telling me! I've been here since the start of lot viewing for the Triton auction. So ronery.
