Anybody going to the Silver Sox game July 4th? I signed up for that. The tough part now is packing, there is only so much room for coins!

Sky Sox. I am going but not with the ANA group. I am a season ticket holder so I already have a ticket to the game. And my seat is better than where the ANA group will be - - front row right behind Home Plate. I will probably wander over and visit the group before the game. A couple of years ago the Sky Sox pitched their first perfect game. The ANA group got to witness that but I missed it because I was attending a mini-seminar.

Hey, guys, what about me? I'm taking Doug Byrd's EAC class the second week and also plan on being a frequenter of the famous (or infamous) Lunar Lounge too! I'm even bringing my own wine! Also, I hear Rick Snow will be another Lunar Lounge Lizard!

I possibly could be talked into going to the Silver Sox game ... unless I get a better offer!

I also signed up for the Denver Mint tour - anyone else going to that?

I almost regret not going this year. I say "almost" since I just got back from seeing Rush in Las Vegas. Great show. :too-cool-for:

Anyway, the ANA works hard in making the seminars both fun and educational.
I recommend it highly for anyone interested in numismatics. Good times.

Since I managed to drag my thirteen year old daughter and wife to Las Vegas for Rush this year, maybe I can cajole them into coming with me to next year's meeting.

Attention ancient peoples: David Vagi, author and authority on Ancient coins, is not teaching this year. Next year, he will be teaching and maybe I can interest some people from this forum in joining me.

Have a good time. I still have great memories about the meeting a year later.

Be sure to post your experiences. Also, you YNers, post your experiences, too. Maybe I can get my daughter to go. :w8v4:

    Charmy,

I will be going on the Denver Mint tour. I took the tour two or three years ago. It is a very good tour. I understand this year we will have wear steel-toed boots (supplied by the Mint).

By the way, I saw some of your Conder Tokens today. Ron Sirna shared three of them with me. VERY nice!!

Hobo, how funny, I just spoke with Ron today - he let me know he was leaving them for me. I bought them raw a couple months ago and he sent them in to NGC along with a group that he had graded. I can't wait to be "reunited" with those little guys!

I look forward to seeing you there, and will be glad to have someone to tour the Mint with. I saw what the steel toed shoes look like - they are pretty funky!

Hey there guys, I just arrived today (missed my plane flight on Friday due to... circumstances :/ ). I have to say I'm disappointed there are not very many (any?) CT'er YN's besides myself! I know I'm not a big poster and, in recent days, haven't been the most active, but I would still really enjoy meeting some of the people on this thread. I'll be wearing a light blue shirt that says "Numismatist: One who acquires coins" tomorrow if anyone wants to say hi; my name is John. Also, I'm taking the Counterfeit Detection course (2nd session) so feel free to say hi if we're in the same class!

Also@ Charmy, you may (or may not) remember me, I timidly said hi to you at the past Tucson International Coin Show! Haha

Also to any YN's prowling this thread feel free to pm me if you need tips on applying for a Summer Seminar scholarship

John, you should love your Counterfeit Detection course. I have taken the course twice - once with your instructors and once with Brian Silliman. Bob and JP do a good job with the course. They really know the subject and they make the course fun and interesting. Bob has plenty of stories to tell. (He is a dealer in Salt Lake and sees lots of interesting stuff come in the shop. You should get him to tell you about the time a guy tried to rob his shop. Now that I think about it I can't remember the story. I'll have to ask him to retell it to me tomorrow.)

I will look for you at lunch tomorrow. Hope to see you.

Got back from Summer Seminar Session 1 the other day. i took the Intro to Grading with Rick Sear, Rod Gillis and Brian Fanton. The class was amazing, I learned so much. The instructors were dedicated and willing to help with anything. If you have the chance, go at least one year! I am a YN and was there on a YN scholarship so every YN should apply!
