We lost this great guy a while back. We used to walk the ONA show each year. I'll never forget his friendship.

He started the best ever GTG threads on this forum. It was an on going contest, grading Lincoln cents. Probably over a hundred different threads. It was a battle to get in first place. That was a few years back.

A lot of folks here had a great time learning how to grade Lincolns. At the end of each thread, rlm would take the time to teach why the coin graded the way it did.

A really special guy that should be remembered.

    Absolutely, and nicely said.

There is a photo composite showing the different mintmark locations for the 14-D cent that I had found online and saved without noting the source. Some time later I posted it to a thread and received a response from RLM simply saying "you're welcome". Turns out I had stolen it from him, yet instead of making a big deal out of it, he seemed genuinely happy that his efforts were helping to make a difference. Aside from everything else and all his other contributions, I will always remember this as a fine example of someone placing the greater good above themselves and/or playing the part. If only more folks felt the same way....

This is probably the image. He wanted the image to be shared. I'm thinking he did a composite on the 09 VDB S as well but I lost the image.

That certainly looks like it and is without a doubt a very helpful reference to have. Thanks for posting it. :)

Necroposting this thread because I just now saw it. I do have to thank RLM's guess the grade cent threads way back for helping me learn how to grade MS cents. I had quite a bit of fun with those threads and it really was more beneficial than I realized at the time.
