I considered RickieB a very close friend too. I learned more from him than probably anybody else here. He is the reason that my interest in paper currency developed into an actual hobby.

He used to tell me about the wonders of Rainbow notes and encouraged me to one day put together a nice collection of these beautiful pieces. Something that's still a high priority for me.

I remember when I was starting to get interested in National Currency (I loved the idea that I could get notes issued by my home state...even my home town)...I went to Rickie to learn about them. As always he was a fountain of knowledge. Then, one day...a package showed up at my house. Totally unannounced (he wanted it to be a surprise). I still use this wonderful gift regularly and I kept the little note that came with it.

I sincerely hope that my friend truly found peace as I know he had a long battle with health issues.

Very generous guy and always willing to share what he knew. He is definitely missed here on the forum.

I was not around when this guy was here but I have read many threads with his comments. The one that struck me most was when he gave a gold coin to the winner of a contest he did not even start. I believe the winner was Twiggs.
Wow is all I can say and wish I had the good fortune of knowing him.
There was also one about a fund raising effort for a young boy that had a fire in in home, Phoenix I think it was. Very giving man for sure.
