It features in depth information about select coins, and historically significant medals, many of which are extraordinarily obscure. There are countless full color plates, illustrating the items in question. There are additionally numerous models in plaster that created the coins and medals. It provides a wealth of information through the text as well as rich illustrations. No detail is spared. the author captures the decades through commemoratives as well. He does not hesitate giving opinion in addition to fact, and extremely obscure information, which is extraordinarily difficult to find elsewhere. We find so much information about the most underappreciated art forms out there-coins. Also the lovingly bound hardcover edition makes for a long lasting book which is essential for an indespensible book such as this. I could scarcely imagine living without it. I highly reccomend it, and hope that all can see how essential it is for any serious collector.It is well worth at least the list price.
